About War Room: Tactical Sandbox
By Historians, For Strategists: The Next Level of Sandbox SimulationWar Room inverts the traditional logic: instead of a game with an editor, it is a Powerful Scenario Editor and Tactical Simulator that offers a real combat module. Designed by the creators of the Lado B da História channel, this military engineering suite was built for those seeking absolute control over time and space on the battlefield. The software is based on two fundamental pillars:
- Simulation Mode: A planning sandbox environment with a bidirectional timeline (Scrubbing), where you draw routes, program temporal events, and edit every visual and physical detail of the scenario.
- Battle Mode: Where your planning is tested. Activate the autonomous AI and transform your editor into a tactical game, where troops react, fight, and retreat organically.
- 🛡️ Eras Without Borders: Pit Roman legionaries against battle tanks or medieval knights against modern infantry divisions. The vast unit catalog allows you to explore history’s "What Ifs" on any scale.
- 🌍 Terrain Generator: Don’t be limited to pre-made maps. Create terrains from scratch with our HD generator, adjusting biomes, sea levels, and relief to build the perfect strategic landscape.
- 📦 Total Expandability: Experience the freedom of going beyond official content. War Room allows you to import custom maps and personal assets, ensuring that any specific unit or historical scenario can be brought to life within your simulation.
- ⚔️ Advanced AI Battle Mode: Issue direct orders or simply watch the chaos unfold. Our AI system processes tactical stances (Offensive, Defensive, Retreat), morale systems, panic, and balance of power in real-time.
- 🎬 "Tactical Glass" Aesthetics & Shaders: Feel the weight of command with visuals inspired by high-tech tactical monitors. Dynamic ocean shaders, CRT effects, Depth of Field (DoF), and cinematic filters turn your simulation into a war film.
- ✏️ Professional Tactical Precision: Draw complex routes, set arrival times, program synchronized detonations, and use map markers to orchestrate military maneuvers with the precision of a true General.
- 🎥 Built for Creators: Featuring a retractable UI, recording indicators, and a "Cinema Mode," War Room is the ultimate tool for those producing documentaries, history videos, or tactical analyses.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING)
- Is War Room a conventional Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game?
No. War Room is fundamentally a Sandbox Tool and a Tabletop Simulator. It does not feature scripted campaigns, tech trees, or resource gathering. It is software for those who want to "set the board" and watch tactical logic unfold. If you are looking for a game with progression and levels, this simulator is not what you are searching for.
- Does the simulator support any type of unit and map?
Yes. The heart of War Room is expansibility. You can import any PNG file to be a unit (soldiers, ships, monsters, tanks) and any image as a map. The Phaser engine ensures you can manage hundreds of these objects simultaneously with high performance.
- Do units have walking animations (legs and arms)?
No. Following the aesthetics of a Real Command Table, units are represented by tactical sprites (tokens). The focus is on fluid movement, AI logic, the panic system, and the visual impact of effects (explosions, smoke, neon), rather than individual limb animations.
- Who is the ideal user for War Room?
Military enthusiasts or Historians wanting to visualize battles, YouTube content creators, fans of mashups (e.g., tanks vs. dragons), and RPG Game Masters who need to simulate large-scale battles that would be impossible to resolve manually on a physical table.

I initially bought this to streamline and save time for animation and visuals when I create educational content regarding war or for world-building in battles in my personal project. However, attempting to use the software was incredibly confusing and frustrating. - It's incredibly confusing to use; the guide is more like a summary of the controls and doesn't really give any guidance on how to use units or create units. - The guide is also difficult to read on smaller screens. Furthermore, most of the controls use key binds that cannot be configured instead of buttons. Preferably, both keybinds and buttons would be the optimal layout; unfortunately, most of the controls use keybinds. - It requires a lot of setting up. Most of the presets that come with the software are horrible; in fact, it does not even include a world map or a comprehensive list of units in NATO symbology. Although this isn't really a valid complaint, it's a heads up for people who plan to immediately try making content with it. - There are simply better alternatives. If you plan on making educational content software like Adobe Photoshop or Krita, a free alternative exists. Paired with editing software like…12 found this helpful

I can see a LOT of potential in this! The reviewers are being overly harsh on an early access software. Can there be improvements? As with everything, yes of course. The UI is VERY clunky at this point and I don't think there is much sense in how it is organized. If this is sorted with an actual tutorial on for example, how to design the Rome scenario, this would be much better. In 15 minutes of me fiddling with the UI, I can sort of see how things are intended to work. But man, some things need to be split into different menus.3 found this helpful

Bought it because I really liked the idea. It feels very innovative, even though it's more of a tool than an actual game. The dev seems pretty active, pushing out really cool patches and updates all the time. The learning curve feels a bit steep, but in just a few days I already figured out the basics to start building my own scenarios. If I had to suggest something, I’d suggest adding a basic multiplayer mode for anyone looking for some more casual fun.
