Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior (Classic)

T'au propaganda in the form of a half-finished FPS. Don't play it if you want a good shooter with relevant 40k lore. Neither apply to this game.

Even after using the config tool, I could not get the new kebindings to work. The default kebindings are bad enough to make the game nearly unplayable. This is a shame, as this was one of my favorite Warhammer titles when I played it back on PS2

Honestly, the game has many quirky (CLUNKY) parts of its gameplay and it overall has problems. HOWEVER, this game was for a long time the only fps Warhammer game. it's what brought me into Warhammer. I think with how far 40K has come with its more modern games, I think it deserves one day a remake/reboot/Spiritual sequel, etc, with how far the modern lore has come, especially for tau. We have seen space marines... its good to play something different. The story is better in the first half than the second... The gameplay is really monotonous at times... especially act 2. that said you have to remember this game was made in 2003... for a PS2. I love it for nostalgia... but this game, with a few drinks, not taking it too seriously and looking around, its kind of got an amusing charm by how weird it is. The lore aspect for the time is also quite neat. So TLDR The games rough but if you played it in the past you'll enjoy it (60 FPS not 20 like the PS2). New peeps, give it a try and see how far 40k has come in the FPS genre. Have fun and don't it take too seriously.

100% Complete | 5h at review As someone who's been a Warhammer fan since the 90s, Fire Warrior holds a pretty special place for me. I remember the Tau being introduced to the tabletop and, outside of Space Wolves and Imperial Guard, they were the first Xenos army I picked up. ( What can I say, I like mechs ) Fire Warrior was also the first Warhammer video game I ever played, so being thrown into the 40K universe from the Tau perspective became a bit of a core memory. Coming back to it all these years later was a blast, and I'd love to see a proper remake that leans into the grittier side of 40K and, most importantly, gives us some proper Battlesuit action. The game is obviously from 2003 and it has aged, particularly when it comes to the mechanics and overall presentation, but I still had a great time running through it again. The 100% completion was very easy taking around 4-5 hours, making this a pretty painless trip down memory lane. It might not hold up as a modern FPS, but for me, Fire Warrior is a piece of Warhammer history that's still worth experiencing.

This game is so ass, the controls literally make the game unplayable.
