WeilerVR PPE Trainer

WeilerVR PPE Trainer is a very simple VR training experience, but I think the idea behind it makes sense. I am placed inside an industrial locker room and my job is to prepare a mannequin with the correct personal protective equipment. There is no big story or complicated objective here. It is basically about learning the proper safety procedure through actually picking things up and putting them on, and I think VR is a good fit for that. The hands on interaction is the strongest part for me. I can grab the different pieces of equipment and physically put them onto the mannequin instead of just reading instructions on a screen. The physics based controls make the objects feel more natural to handle, and I liked having to pay attention to what I was doing rather than just clicking through a list. It makes something that could have been a very boring safety presentation feel more like an actual interactive exercise. I also like the realistic locker room setting. It is not an exciting environment, but that is kind of the point. The game is trying to recreate an industrial workplace rather than make some colourful fantasy world, and I think the simple approach works for the education…
