Weyrdlets 2.0 : Desktop Pets

One of my favorite productivity tools :) I hope Steam lifts the profile feature limits soon though, that’s my only issue with it. I’ve played Ropuka, Tiny Farm, and Little Aviary, but the features in this game are better for studying/WFH. Pros: + adjustable Pomodoro timer + non-invasive desktop buddy + highly customizable

Game is cute but most of the features need some tweaking. Got stuck in the tutorial a couple of times, first my apple disappeared and i couldn't figure out why i was stuck petting my pet, then it asked me to open my orchard but i wasn't level 1 which is needed to open it. The UI is very wonky, not very intuitive. I tried the ball race thign and whenever i finished the track and press restart, my pet starts at the finish line, and that happens even in the weekly competition mode! I just got a 0.57 sec record in a multiplayer mode due to a glitch and there's no way for me to fix it. So yeah. A very cute idea, and it reminds me a lot of a 21st century Petz, but the execution is definitely not there yet.

Weyrdlets has been an absolute delight ever since I started! If you're lookin' for an easy and relaxing little desktop buddy, you'll enjoy Weyrdlets! If you're lookin' for something that'd remind you of older online games like club penguin or moshi monsters, you'll love it too! There's so much customization, so much furniture for your little area to unlock n' look forward to and I'm still unlocking new stuff daily! My biggest issue comes from the fact that not enough people play it - so the online capabilities like the playground or Worble (this game's cute little monkey-ball platformer race minigame) end up pretty empty - but thankfully, other players aren't necessary for you to do things like daily tasks or to have fun with the games anyways. I'm looking forward to future updates for this, ESPECIALLY for that cute new Wasabi pet comin' up! And hopefully some more people to play with, too! I have no idea why anyone would want to pay for this. The UI is awful, menus hidden inside other menus. Performance is really bad given how basic the game looks. It feels like a bad mobile game that they're charging money for.

I tried... I tried to like it... it didn't work. All started from the beginning when I was doing the intro tutorial. I somehow did too fast that the popup text still told me to get the apple. I did get the apple and feed the pet, but the popup stayed. Fast forward I did the tutorials again from the beginning and tried to not mess it. Feeding is hard as most of the times they just try to run away even though you've placed the food in front of them, they were hungry btw. Putting items in general is hard, you know, moving your cursor through flat screen and the items you're moving is in 3d space. It needs some kind of sign of where it'll fall instead of guessing. Lost food multiple times into the water because of this. UI feels cluttered and hard to find. Back button is unusually placed on the middle with other menu/shop buttons instead of the usual corner. Took me a while to know where the pet button is, or know that clicking on the pet and outside the pet can give different options. Overall I like the idea, I like the art directions. There are definitely some similar games out there, but this one feels like a chore due to how simply annoying it is in general.
