About Where Time Stood Still
Your plane has ditched on a mountain plateau somewhere in deepest Tibet. You and your companions are alive, but recovery from the impact is short lived; a large shape is moving towards you. As it gets closer you rub your eyes in disbelief: a Dinosaur! Where are you?... and when? Now learn to survive in a world untouched by modern life; a world frozen in time.
Hazards to be faced include the aforementioned dinosaurs and cavemen, as well as sea monsters, precarious mountainous ledges and dilapidated bridges. Objects including weapons and first aid kits can be collected. Each character has his own distinct behaviors - one becomes hungry easily, while another is only really competent while his fiancée survives. Although the ultimate aim is to save all four characters, you can continue while at least one is alive.

I love retro action-adventure games. I love when they are difficult and demand a real degree of mastery. However, "Where Time Stood Still" was mostly a frustrating experience. I truly wanted to love this game. I wanted to figure it out. But the more I played, the more I realized its gameplay is an unbalanced, maddening mess. It pains me to admit this, because there is a rough gem buried within. The player commands four plane-crash survivors, one at a time, stranded in a hostile environment somewhere in the Himalayas. They must face countless dangers, including treacherous terrain, man-eating dinosaurs, and violent tribespeople. On top of that, the survivors need to eat, drink, rest, heal injuries, fight, and search for items to overcome obstacles. Each character has a personal inventory, distinct traits, and unique quirks. For example, one character understands the natives’ language and, if present during conversations, translates for the rest of the group. The goal is to survive and find a way back to civilization. At least one survivor must make it to the end, but the ultimate challenge is to bring the entire group through alive. Exploring the Himalayas in this game is genuine…3 found this helpful
HARDCORE another reviewer said it perfect it's an ISOMETRIC PITFALL, i never played this as a young gamer in the 80s but i had to have it and as whatever you can call this as it is, i have to recommend this, but only to those who understand that easy wasn't an option back then1 found this helpful
Opens. DOSbox window format is strange. Nothing works. I tried to get it running multiple times. Why is everything in my life like this?1 found this helpful

It's not port, it is just original game packed with dosbox. And Dos version ain't even definitive port of the game. Somewhat captivating game. I don't know, I have never beaten it. It is super janky, slow and unpredictable. It looks and sounds horrible. Still it intrigues me.
