Why Am I Dead At Sea

I think this games idea is 9/10, very fun, very interesting story, really fun mechanics, has lots of initial things going for it, but it's held back a lot by implementation, bringing it down quite a bit. There are so many annoying things like: Characters move around, so you need to chase them to posses sometimes. There's a "complete" possession, but you need to press the button long, which makes it even more annoying to posses people. Some characters walk so slowly, it's so annoying. Some of the character powers seemed pretty useless, some felt very important. Dialog boxes need an indication other than the name of who is talking (like a face picture that lots of games like this already implement) Game is annoying when you don't know what you need to do next, like sometimes you just need to make two characters talk that you had no idea you'd need to in order to progress the story, which is very annoying. Overall still recommend, even with so many faults and clear places it needs improvement it was a fun little game, that kept me captivated throughout. Also it worked PERFECTLY on steamdeck.

Thanks to the recommendation from the YouTuber NitroRad, I bought & played this game and really enjoyed it. The mechanic of controlling other people as a ghost and getting more characters and abilities over time is really cool. The story really hooked me and playing through it, I always wondered who the culprit is. Besides the charming art style, the chip-tune music is also so good that I have some tracks on my Spotify. I really wish the developer of this game will do another game after this one was so good.

When the dialogue was specifically written to indicate how the white character wasn't quite pronouncing the chinese character's name correctly (due to English not having that consonant) I knew the writing was the real stuff. Great story.

Decent mystery game. Possess people, talk to other people, investigate surroundings. Investigation and mystery solving is complicated by the existence of 2 different modes of possession, which will alter the dialog options available. Also the kind of game you might want to take notes for, as you have to often remember and follow a chain of interactions between people based on what they learn to make progress.

Really cool experience, slowly figuring out the narrative threads - both the overarching murder mystery, but also each person's own stories, personal demons and reasons for acting the way they do. I also love the different views on morality and being alive - with some of the people being optimistic and believing in the good of mankind even in the face of malevolence, while others were deeply pessimistic, or nihilistic. I did basically all the game without looking stuff up - up until the very end, where getting the different endings tripped me up a little bit. But still - really great game.

Good story, good mystery.
