[h1]Long Distance Love that can Endure Anything ^^[/h1] [h2]Introduction[/h2] [i]Winter Heat[/i] is a yuri, kinetic visual novel developed and published by Yuri Kissaten. You take on the roles of Javi, a freelance artist in Santiago, Chile, and Shio, an office worker in Miyazu, Japan. They regularly chat in video calls, having initially met years ago on an online games server that has since been shut down. Being long-time best friends, their romantic feelings for one another slowly grow, and then one day, Javi decides to take the plunge and risk it all to visit Shio in Miyazu. However, they both discover that it won't be easy for them to stay together without a plan... As for the gameplay, the story is linear, so no choices are present. You simply play through from beginning to end. In addition to the story, though, there are various mini-games, ranging from testing your English to a newly added roguelite RPG. Lots of CGs are present as well as a varied soundtrack although no voice acting. [h1]TIME SKIP - THE GAME[/h1] Winter Heat is a yuri slice-of-life Visual Novel and the second game by Yuri Kissaten. Having played their first title, I can definitely see some progress - they’re clearly trying to learn from their past mistakes. Unfortunately, they still struggle with the most important element of the Visual Novel genre: the story. [b]It’s not terrible, and it can be cute at times, but I doubt I’ll remember much of it after a couple of days.[/b] This review might sound a bit harsh, but I genuinely want Yuri Kissaten to succeed. That’s why I’m pointing out these issues - so they can improve in future releases. [b]I can’t recommend Winter Heat as it is[/b], but their future games? We’ll see. [b]Story[/b] The story is fairly simple. Two online friends - Javi from Chile and Shio from Japan - chat about their daily lives. They’re both lesbians and comfortable enough with each other to flirt for fun (not-so-subtle foreshadowing). Enjoyed playing the demo but the full version is a bit lower than my expectation. The best part of the story was at the beginning when they were testing each other. It has been a little tiring watching them struggling for living together. Anyway it's a sweet story. BTW What will happen if I clear the built-in RPG game? I died while fighting against the chili pepper.

[h1]Winter Heat[/h1] Winter Heat is a visual novel told with text messages, and traditional VN scenes. This VN is a kinetic visual novel meaning you do not have dialogue choices or different endings. You follow the long distance relationship of Javi, from Chile, and Shio from Japan. I would give this game a neutral review if I could but since I can’t I will give it a negative review. A super cute look into long distance love and friendship, with realistic and adorable feel to the conversations. The fact there is a full RPG inside the game is a really nice extra - it's basically two games in one! - and there are REAL recipes which is such a fun addition. Love it, looking forward to sinking more time into it!

A pretty cute story about two gamers finding friendship and then love in an online game. Long-distance doesn't stop them from sharing their love for each other! I haven't finished the game or tried the Learn English or the Oomfie RPG mini-game yet.
