Workhard is a very badly made 2D retro pixel side scrolling shooter from the shovelware pushers at Red Twice Potato. It's got a lazy pixel monochrome theme and you shoot "rap gangsters" and whatever... oh it's just so awful, badly made, bad premise, not fun... the list goes on. Even if this had a great premise for a game... it would still suck. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayabl…3 found this helpful
Cool and Easy Game, it brought back memories of my SEGA Console.2 found this helpful
Pretty short. But a distinct art-style and fantastic soundtrack make this work all 10 minutes it takes to finish.1 found this helpful
I normally really like short games like this and would recommend but not in this case. I beat this game in under 12 minutes and although I enjoyed it, it isn't worth the full price ($2.99). I'd recommend getting it on sale but there is one giant issue you should be aware of. There is a broken achievement so you can't get 100%. The achievement "Launch the Game" doesn't work so I'm forever stuck at 9/10 completed.
"launch the game" - for the achievement, ain't working. It's an ok game for 12 minutes. Not recommended because of the achievement bug.
Great visuals! Love the noir atmosphere and ghetto style levels. the gore is nice, just contrasted against greyscale is smart. looks nice, plays fine. short but sweet. only downside is i wish it was a few levels longer. 5/5 =)
