Really fun game. Has a few minor bugs to fix, but easy to overlook. As a speed runner, I appreciate the addition of a speedrun mode with a built in timer.

"Xenture" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from University of Utah in the USA. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a fun, but unfortunately short, janky and unpolished FPS game with a single map that you can complete fairly quickly. There's 6 hives on the map and you need to go kill them and get to your spaceship, that's it. It's over before you can blink. That's one of so many problems with student projects, at best, they're just a tease for what might have been a great game…

Ok, first off, I get that the game is free and is a student project. But with that said, I would be mad if I paid $1 for this sloppy garbage game. Its basically a try hard cheap discount rip off of Risk of Rain 2 and fails hard. Just go play that. Controls are clumsy. It feels lazy and unfinished. If I was buddy's with the students who made it, I am sure I would be stoked to play it. But I am not. I am a general consumer and I have to compare it to the rest of my options and the general quality I see in the market. No proper controller support, just mouse emulation. Cant reload while aiming, only sometimes auto reloads while trying to fire... guns are way easier to aim when things are far away but harder when they are close. That is a problem. I am missing point blank with a rocket launcher, but I can snipe from across the map easy with a rifle. Jankiness. Jumping feels stiff and numb. Frustratingly unpolished menus and controls. Like just exiting the menu you have to mouse over "resume" you cant just B button out. Also, even though there is no on-line feature that I can see, the game wont pause when you try to enter your inventory menu. The bones of a decent game are h…
