XEYYEX 2: Colour Wars

Alright. [i]Xeyyex 2: Colour Wars[/i] is what I would characterize as a suped-up Pacman style game, with a couple cool twists that really spruce it up. First off, the maps I have played look pretty cool. Each has exits that teleport you through to the other side of the map via that exit, which is familiar if you've played Pacman, which I assume you have. There is a monster generator at the center of the map. So far, so familiar. Where this game serves to stand out is in what types of monsters are generated. There are five potential colors of monster as well as different types of monsters with different speeds. To combat this, you are offered a color generator which randomly spawns around the map where it will stay for a little bit before teleporting to somewhere else on the map. Your goal is to pick a color and then attempt to eat as many monsters of the same color as possible without being eaten by monsters of a color different than your own. You can switch colors as often as you like provided you can get to the color generator, and generally speaking, a good tactic is to whittle down monsters of the most prevalent color, rinse and repeat until you reach the stage's goal of mo…

Not a bad pac-man clone

[h3] I was given a key by the Dev, whom I don't know and have no affiliation with. They randomly found me through my Steam reviews. [/h3] The game is essentially a Pac-Man clone with a color-matching twist, trying to pay homage to classic arcade games. The game's flaws make it feel like a low-effort job: - There's no tutorial, only poorly written instructions at the beginning - Monsters often overlap, hiding each other's color - The safe spot where you change color is bland and small, which can make it difficult to find And: - No settings and accessibility options, meaning you can't rebind keys, adjust the volume, or change settings to suit your needs. Outdated and mild, get old very fast. I believe there are better ways to spend 2 bucks.

XEYYEX II: Colour Wars is a throwback to the one-screen arcade games of the NES and Commodore 64 era, but with a unique twist. You play as an eyeball navigating a labyrinth, chasing down creatures that match your current color. The catch is, you can only eat the creatures that are the same color as you, and to change your color, you have to locate transformers that are randomly scattered across the map. While the game lacks the direct enemy-chase mechanic of classics like Pac-Man, the sheer number of critters swarming the screen more than makes up for it. If you don't keep moving, you'll be overwhelmed and defeated in seconds. Visually and mechanically, XEYYEX II is very barebones. It’s clear that this game is meant for quick bursts of play rather than long sessions, especially since it focuses on arcade-style high-score chasing. At less than the price of a cup of coffee, it’s hard to complain about what’s on offer. XEYYEX II doesn’t break new ground, but for a few rounds of nostalgic, fast-paced fun, it's a decent deal—especially if you’re into retro-style games.
