What Steam players say

Zafehouse Diaries is a text-based survival management game that players find engaging and replayable, with effective minimalist design and appropriately challenging difficulty that keeps players invested. The main complaints center on the relationship mechanics between survivors feeling contrived, occasional interface jank, and limited content like only one save slot and a five-survivor cap, though some players suggest the sequel offers a more polished experience if budget allows.
No matter what you do, your people will fight with each other. Really its more like dysfunctional relationship simulator.7 found this helpful
A text-based adventure-style survival horror management game where you are the one running this monkey farm! PROS + Cheap and compact + Generally fair but unforgiving difficulty + Minimalistic yet effective sound design + Clever, immersive TTRPG-inspired interface + Infinite replayability thanks randomly-generated playthroughs + Built-in editor to create your own custom survivours and adventures + Highly-engaging, if not downright addictive gameplay that perfectly encapsulates the tone and atmosphere of George A. Romero's "Day of the Dead" CONS - Only one save slot - Five survivour limit - Only three game modes - Occasional Fallout 1-level interface jank - "Zafehouse Diaries", not a particularly inspired title - Half-baked relationship mechanic that feels very contrived at times - Limited micromanagement options (e.g. no way to assign equipment to a specific character)3 found this helpful
good
I never got into this. I don't think it's a bad game or anything, it just wasn't my jam.
Mostly text based, also the survivors can be extremely dumb but overall quite fun. I read that the reviews for the 2nd game is "if you have this do not buy the 2nd" well my advice is do not buy this and buy the 2nd game if you are willing to spend a bit more for a more improved game.
Interesting and changes every time, tricky but not too difficult that you give up and not too easy that its boring
