About Zarlor Mercenary
Originally released in 1990, Zarlor Mercenary brought the excitement of top-down shooters to the Atari Lynx handheld console. Now, relive those days in this remastered emulated version.
WANTED: Hot gun for hire. Travel to several exotic and dangerous places. Discover several exotic and dangerous aliens and kill them. Kill lots. For cash. Buy more weapons and kill again.
Choose from a number of mercenaries, each of which start with a particular powerup. Fly a number of dangerous missions against a panoply of enemies. Pick up powerups to gain new abilities. Battle tough boss enemies at the end of each level. Destroy enemies to gain money which can be used between levels to upgrade your craft.
This enhanced version introduces a number of modern features to this retro classic, including:

i absolutely loved this game on Atari Lynx back in 1989-1993... its awesome to be able to play it again now... kinda plays better with my Hori Gamepad on my Asus TUF F117 gaming laptop then i remember on Lynx... awesome! +++ edit +++ playing around 4am this morning 20/08/2023 i managed to reach the final Boss stage on Level 5... man i hadnt done this since my childhood days playing Zarlor Mercenary... i had a great run and was super lucky a few times,,, im uploading this mornings gameplay to my YouTube... defo play this to revisit the old skool shooters from 1990! they were a different breed and very very hard! but they rewarded persistence with a high score you would find hard to beat... that was it,,, no checkpoints... so save points... just a single run depending on how many lives you had in the game... very satisfying to reach level 5 today... and i really wish companies would make shooters like this again,,, A+ 5/5!8 found this helpful
