Of course the main ingredient would be some awesome top-down twin-stick shooting with a moderate amount of the cliché “damsel in distress” story, add a pinch of puzzle-solving, sprinkle some classic hack-and-slash actions, and stir with all the deadly zombies and god-knows-what creatures, resulting in a satisfyingly intense and exciting gameplay experience!
The Background – In a Crooked Little Town…
In order to rescue Ashley, a young girl he had also just met in this unfamiliar town, Ricky strolled into (or is thrown into?) an unexpected adventure, with the help of a mysterious talking skull named MC Skully. Waiting for him will be hordes of zombies, intricately designed challenges, and ridiculously tough bosses with some of the most absurd abilities.
The Combat – LOCK N’ LOAD!
Whether you are a cool-headed sniper, close-quarters combat specialist, or grandmaster explosive engineer, you’ll find plenty of fun in Zombie Soup. We have not only gathered “conventional firearms” such as rifles, sniper rifles, SMGs, shotguns, etc., but also a ton of melee weapons like machetes, axes, daggers… And, of course, there are explosives, too. In addition, we have also designed a wide variety of offbeat, special “weapons” – nail gun, pitching machine, fireworks launcher, and even railgun! So you can be armed to the teeth to brave the horde of zombies.
Weapon Unlock – TOUGH challenges
Ricky will encounter many carefully designed timed challenges throughout the adventure in addition to boss fights. Those challenges are TOUGH! However, upon completion, you will be able to unlock more powerful weapons. Remember, the harder the challenge, the stronger the reward!

The best part of the game is the humoristic story, you will laught a lot and sometimes you won't believe what happen. The game has a polished map with nice enviroments but the rest of features like the weapon lvl up and the rpg system lack of depth, they are too simple and straight foward like if I was playing a mobile game. I got this game on a sale and thought the animation was cute and it really is! I very rarely give negative reviews and always try my best to read reviews before purchasing any game. I think this game would have been a lot better if it offered as a multiplayer. I kind of debated on what to give this game as it isn't as exciting as I thought it'd be playing solo. The story and dialogue is pretty cheesy and would just easily recommend this to kids/teens more than I would adults.. but oddly it's a kiddie animation with alcohol and with a thirsty main character trying to find a girlfriend LOOOOL. The controls are a little funky in the game on controller and feel like this is better played that way than mouse and keyboard. Some of the boss fights seem impossible to beat as you need to perfect the fight without getting hit and it's very rare that you'd get a heart drop in them. There isn't any better way to improve your items or your skills and if you do upgrade them, it's a skill that doesn't improve gameplay much. It's a really fun top-down shooter. Although it's a cute game the graphics are colorful and the story is fun. It's easy to get items during missions. I decided to buy it right away after trying the demo. Most importantly you can control the shooting with mouse which some games don't have. The character are also easy to control with the keyboard. I have an Xbox controller but I don't need to use it with this game. Shooting games that require aiming or rogue like should be able to use the mouse like this game. In conclusion buy it. It's fun and worth
Solid twin stick shooter with a lot of polish for a small studio. Lots of enemy variety. The "souls like" components seem a little unnecessary and I do feel like the game starts to overstay it's welcome by the last act.
