About Zotrix
Zotrix is an arcade space shooter inspired by early shooter games on arcade machines from 80's and early 90's. Designed for all generations it contains missions with nice and colorful enemies while focused on the arcade element of the gameplay.
This being said, this is an upfront disclaimer about a lot of repetitiveness in the gameplay as it is the case with older arcade games.
You dive into deep space escorting a cargo ship from your fleet. Quickly you realize you're within the boundaries of enemy territory. Chains of enemy ships are lining up one by one while you perform maneuvers to clear the perimeter and avoid being cleared out yourself. Victory doesn't come easy as you have to earn every single space credit out there fighting in over 50 missions.
By clearing your mission objectives, reward is coming to your account and you're ready to upgrade your ship with decoys, shields, laser boosters and much more. You can even buy a new, better fighter. As you progress, you will get engaged in trading earned resources such as cobalt, nickel, palladium and others in trading room every space station features.
Build your strategy by carefully choosing routes from your space station towards another and have your take in every mission. Each mission will pit a challenge in front of you and most of the missions will get you to face a bigger and badder alien ships.

Zotrix, developed by ZeroBit Games and published by Ocean Media LLC, is a twin-stick arcade shooter that deliberately looks backward to the golden age of classic space games while attempting to modernize the formula through light RPG progression and resource management. At its core, Zotrix is a game about constant motion, reflexive shooting, and surviving relentless enemy waves, but it layers these fundamentals with systems intended to provide longer-term goals beyond simply chasing high scores. The moment-to-moment gameplay is rooted firmly in traditional arcade design. Players pilot a small spacecraft within a confined arena, firing in all directions while dodging incoming enemies and projectiles. Movement is fluid and responsive, and the twin-stick controls allow for independent aiming and navigation, which is essential as enemy numbers increase. Early encounters emphasize positioning and spatial awareness rather than pure reflex speed, giving players time to acclimate before the screen begins to fill with threats. When Zotrix is at its best, the balance between dodging, shooting, and collecting drops creates a satisfying flow that recalls the hypnotic rhythm of classic arcade …1 found this helpful
Negatives: - Story has non-existent difficulty scaling, and there's zero thought behind level design . - New ship upgrade content ends after mission ~15. - New enemy original waves end after mission ~15 because all of them are premade instead of randomly generated. - Bosses and even some waves run on a hidden timer, i.e. if you clear them too fast enjoy staring at blank space for two to three minutes. - No unique nor hard to get achievements as they can all be achieved in a single run. - Shop doesn't support numpad keys. Positives: - Geometry Wars nostalgia1 found this helpful
Missions are far too long. The resource trading doesn't really feel very worth it until later on in the game. Levels are way too repetitive. Music is like some kind of fever dream from the 90s. Can't say I'd really really recommend this one.
It's a short game. 5-15 min active shooting missions...old school asteroids style (where you move around the screen) with old time streams of enemies coming through shooting. Can upgrade ship, shields, etc. Has a trading component, that isn't really necessary considering, but nice touch. Plot line ok, as it gives direction.
sucks refund me
Thank god i bought this on sale, because honestly for 13$ there's many other indie games that are way better than Zotrix. It's not that bad, but certainly not good enough either.
