About NEBULOUS: Fleet Command

✦ AI summary

Command a fleet of customizable warships in intense real-time tactical space combat where positioning, radar management, and electronic warfare matter as much as firepower. Fight through a narrative campaign solo or with friends, or test your fleet designs against AI and players in skirmishes where you'll spend half the battle trying to figure out what your enemy is actually fielding before striking with precision.

Take command of your hand-tailored fleet of space warships and use realistic radar, electronic warfare, advanced movement controls in 3D space, and precision targeting to outmaneuver and outwit your opponents in a simulation-heavy tactical space game like no other.

✦ AI summary

NEBULOUS: Fleet Command is a deeply complex naval combat simulator that rewards players willing to invest time in its tutorials and mechanics, particularly its intricate missile systems and ship customization options. Players consistently praise the engaging single-player campaign and the strategic depth once the learning curve is overcome, though they acknowledge it demands significant commitment and appeals to a niche audience. Most reviewers consider it worth experiencing for fans of hardcore strategy games, though the steep complexity barrier means it's not for casual players.

Heard this being referred to as a naval combat sim in a setting like 'The Expanse". Fairly apt I'd say. This game is VERY similar to Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock if you know that one. This a very nuance'd naval sim that is as "sim-y" as Arma: 2 is for First Person Shooters. Nebulous: Fleet Command is as more sim-y comparted to the naval battles in Star Wars: Empire at War. (the greatest Star Wars game of all-time FYI) This is a title where you NEED to go through the tutorials--and the greatest depth is with all the damn missiles and missile types and variants and all of the different types of counter measures!! While the game allows you to get lost in the weeds with different doctrinal settings per ship like "will she fire a chaff if a friendly vessel is being targeted but they're firing" or what range and what types of weapons will fighters use and when will they return to the hanger and so on----you don't need to be THAT specific if you don't want to---I just started playing again after a long break and I didn't have to google but 2 things-----but the game IS hard. Make no mistake! Some micro-ing is required but the fleet sizes are not that big as for it to be overwhelming. …

Great game that requires special people to play with, difficult to find but this is possibly the best game of this genre out there, the ship customization is there, workshop is there, and the gameplay is there.

This is a great game, really complex and deep but a lot of fun once you have understood the core concepts. I've only played the single player campaign and haven't tried and MP, so I can't comment on some of the reviews regarding MP. However, the single campaign is really well put together and I have played through it twice; I'm very much looking forward to the next part of the campaign being released.

This is basically a combination of Homeworld and Sea Power with a ton of unit customization.

Complicated as hell, but extremely fun once you earn your Ph.D in naval astrophysics & defend your dissertation from all of those incoming torpedoes.

Can't wait for act 2.
