Slave Zero

There are a lot of hidden gems from the older ages of computer gaming. Some still hold strong today, some had that certain gameplay and style that clicked well and will forever hold their places in gaming history. This isn't one of those games. Slave Zero was kinda jank when it was first released, and has not aged well since. The designs were always quaint, being love letters to older mecha anime like Evangelion, gundam, patlabor, and even Five Star Stories. They're interesting to look at, but that's about as good as the game gets. It's a very basic third person shooter (you can switch to first person, but that makes platforming awkward). It gets repetitive, even with missions that change up objectives (and the defense missions just make things worse). It also suffers from some severe bugs and glitches. Not enough to outright stop the game, but enough to be very frustrating (I saved right before the final boss battle, but attempting to reload said save resulted in a crash 100% of the time. Also clicking anywhere during the "3dfx" load screen would result in a crash as well). Bland repetition becomes the norm the more you play, from the environments to the music to the combat it…

Legit good game and one of the best gifts i have gotten :3 Played on Windows 7

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ badass

Argilus makes me wet

this game is really cool. the world you're placed is fairly interesting, and seeing your giant mech-monster stomp through streets is pretty satisfying. but it don't work, game crashes too much
