Transiruby

A nice small metroidvania. The platforming is fun and the game is not particularly difficult. Overall I had a good time! I played it entirely on the steam deck where it worked without issue. Count around 5-6 hours to finish the game and a second playthrough is needed for 100%ing the game.

really charming game and fun exploration.

A decent Metroidvania. It's not doing anything particularly unusual, so if you like the genre and want more, then go for it!

Transiruby is a delightful side-scrolling adventure that demonstrates how a game does not need an enormous world or groundbreaking mechanics to leave a lasting impression. Developed by SKIPMORE and ESQUADRA,inc. and published by Flyhigh Works, the title follows Siruby, a young cyborg who embarks on a journey to investigate a mysterious land that suddenly appears from another dimension. Accompanied by her feline-like AI companion, Ne-com, Siruby uncovers hidden treasures, encounters unusual allies and rivals, and slowly pieces together the mysteries surrounding this strange continent. The narrative remains light throughout the experience, allowing exploration and gameplay to take center stage while still giving players enough context to stay invested. The game embraces the foundations of the metroidvania genre with confidence. Exploration is at the heart of the experience, and every newly acquired ability opens additional opportunities across previously visited areas. Collecting Tranchips serves as the primary means of progression, encouraging players to revisit locations and search every corner of the map. While backtracking is a staple of the genre, Transiruby manages to make it …

Concept is pretty clean and the game feels pretty good to play. Game is a little unpolished and there are some questionable map design choices, but it's mostly fun for 5-6 hours.
