more of an 80% positive game. prob hits harder for gba metroid fans as well. already paying for itself in the first hour. i hope this dev does some more stuff

this is the least polished metroidvania i have ever played. i have a feeling that the only person who playtested this game is the developer. decent enough game if you like jank, and it's not too hard to sequence break, for better or for worse

Metroid cross hollow knight. Seems goated and it is until... Lots of jank, letting you to final areas of places where you cannot progress. You have to backtrack and not in the normal or good way. Where you seem to find no answers anywhere you go. The first 7 hours is a top tier metroidvania. But that one glaring issue will define the game. I recommend getting it on sale as 7 hours of it is top tier.

TL;DR: A solid B-Tier Metroidvania that does not hold your hand, with a very open world, and will very quickly make you feel like you're somewhere you shouldn't be, like you're sequence breaking. Not for the faint of heart when it comes to progression, but if you enjoy challenging sequence breaks, this might be a fun one for you. Normally I like to go for 100% on metroidvanias, really try to explore thoroughly and complete the game without guides. This game however, really frustrated me. The combat was fine, a good challenge up until 80% through, when I could just damage tank everything with zero issues. The movement felt pretty good, especially when you think you've found a cool tech that allows you to skip needing certain abilities. The augment's system is decent, but it really just seemed like you stuck with the same combo the whole time. I'm 7 hours in and don't want to put it down. I don't play every metroidvania out there, but I do like them and have played quite a few with the most recent being Chasm and Axiom Verge. I'd say this has it's own unique elements just as those do and stacks up favorable to them. The control is spot on and makes the combat feel fair. The story and characters are intriguing enough that I kind of wish this world is built out into a bigger budget game. Also yes it looks and sounds great.
