Sniper Elite V2 Remastered

A reasonable game, mostly well put together. Context: I played through once on the hardest difficulty. This is my first play of a Sniper Elite game. I purchased this with the rest of the series on significant discount. Pros: Seems historically accurate (though I do not know enough to be sure) Reasonably dynamic NPC AI. Shooting felt good, and I was generally getting better at estimating distance and quickly correcting for misses by the end. Reasonable stealth system, silenced pistol or noise to cover rifle shots. I only used this to its full effect about three times, but it felt good to accomplish. Mixed: Only one save file, and you must progress in order, and it seems to become unavailable afterwards. Provided binoculars are almost redundant when rifle has a similar scope. Sometimes the NPCs would properly search for the player, other times they would give themselves away by shooting into a wall. Cons: Character heals within seconds from most injuries, often I was trading fire with snipers simply forced to wait five seconds. This is my first Sniper Elite game. I find it to be pretty fun, though noticeably dated. I don't feel like the story is all that good, or if there is much of one. The main character says a short paragraph about what he's doing then you go on a sniping spree, repeat. It's a fairly janky game, very reminiscent of classic Xbox360 games so it's both a combo of being very INFURIATING and mildly charming, to say the least. AI is also clearly from that era. All in all, I like it. I'm playing through the series now and wanted to start from the 'beginning' (v2). Not bad.

English: It is definitely better than the first game, though that might just be because it is a remastered version. They managed to reduce the unbearable errors of the first game down to a "playable" level, but let's be honest, it gets incredibly boring after a while. The movement mechanics are so weird; when you run, the character just charges in one direction like a locked-on rocket. We are playing a sniper game, yet bullets somehow cannot pass through tree leaves. No matter how much they tried to polish it, it is still boring and full of bugs. It drops to around $3 during sales, but trust me, it is not even worth that much. It is just too buggy to be enjoyable. Overall, it is a very "meh" game. It's WWII Assassin's Creed. A bit dated in some aspects but plenty of fun.

Simple mechanics, interesting story.
