About To the Moon

✦ AI summary

You're a memory archaeologist uncovering an elderly man's lifetime of choices as two doctors grant his dying wish to experience the moon landing in his mind. This narrative adventure masterpiece blends retro RPG visuals with adventure game storytelling, all tied together by a haunting original soundtrack that reveals why a simple dream meant everything.

Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts have peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live, all the way from the very beginning... but only in their patients' heads.

Due to the severity of the operation, the new life becomes the last thing the patients remember before drawing their last breath. Thus, the operation is only done to people on their deathbeds, to fulfill what they wish they had done with their lives, but didn’t.
This particular story follows their attempt to fulfill the dream of an elderly man, Johnny. With each step back in time, a new fragment of Johnny's past is revealed. As the two doctors piece together the puzzled events that spanned a life time, they seek to find out just why the frail old man chose his dying wish to be what it is.
And Johnny's last wish is, of course... to go to the moon.

✦ AI summary

Players praise this game for its powerful emotional storytelling and meaningful exploration of relationships and what truly matters in life, with particular acclaim for the unexpected narrative payoff in the final act and its beautiful score. The main criticism is the minimal gameplay and puzzle elements throughout, though most agree the narrative impact far outweighs this limitation. The game is best experienced knowing as little as possible beforehand and may be emotionally heavy for those recently dealing with relationship loss.

to the moon is the kind of games that makes you both feel good and cry the hell out of your self. its like a spark to tell you to think about your life and how are you going to spend your time. it sparks you that you don't have much time to reach your goals and your dreams or wishes. I think who ever plays this game wont regret the time that have been spent. the story is great 10/10 storytelling is also fantastic 9.5/10 but the gameplay mite hurt you because it does not have anything to present and there will be no new feature in gameplay and it could bore you but the story and the curiosity of finding out that what's happening will let you stay tuned . I give this game a solid 8.8/10 and that's because of the gameplay . thanks for reading ❤❤

Made me cry a little bit because of its meaning. You only have a limited time on this earth so you should really spend it wisely. Buy this game when it goes on sale but if your fine with the 10$ price tag go for it. I didn't finish it because I didn't really like the gameplay but you should still buy it. (FYI I did finish it but on a walkthrough cuz ya know first reason gameplay)

I’ve played a lot of games over the past decade, but To the Moon remains one of the most touching experiences I’ve ever had. I beat it more than ten years ago and still find myself thinking about it, hoping to revisit it when my life has moved forward a little more. The story is incredibly moving, and the pixel graphics give it a charming, indie feel that doesn’t distract from the emotional depth. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing—each track feels like a bittersweet, heartfelt memory that lingers long after the game ends. I spent about 4.5 hours, which is just a touch longer than the typical main‑story length of 4.1 hours, and the game’s pacing keeps you engaged without feeling rushed. If you’re looking for a short, single‑player adventure that will stay with you, this is a must‑play.

What an extraordinary game!! This indie gem starts off with an interesting premise, a team of two technicians working for a company that grants dying people their last wishes.. in the form of memories. That's right poeple who are about to pass away hire this company to implant memories into their brains, of things they never achieved or places they have never been in order to have more fullfiling and peaceful deaths. The premise is interesting enough but the way it develops and gets personal with this particular "patient" and his memories and lifestory is especially well told and engaging. The game is played in the view of old school top down RPG's (there's even a nod to those, early on in the game) but it is basicly a storytelling game in wich you don't really have to make impactful choices, but rather follow the story as it goes. But it nonethless does a terrific job with it cus it keeps you engaged with the story and the way it is told is outstanding. It has humour in the right dose, romance, loss, tragedy and it really pulls on your heartstrings. It's a short game(took me just short of 4 hours to complete it) but in that regard it just feels right. Found out as the credits ende…
