Things happen, and I end up thinking about this game at least a couple times a year, and pretty immediately get brought to tears. Few pieces of art have that much impact. You should play this, and expect it to permanently alter your brain chemistry. Do it. Gain an empathy.3 found this helpful

10/10: The most emotionally powerful game I've ever played - and likely ever will That Dragon, Cancer is an autobiographical narrative adventure that tells the real story of Ryan and Amy Green and their young son Joel during his battle with terminal cancer, told through intimate, interactive vignettes about hope, grief, faith, and love. It's the only game that has ever truly brought me to tears, and I don't expect anything else to ever match it - it isn't sad for the sake of being sad, but honest, raw, and deeply human, with a weight that only a real family's story could carry. Beyond the emotion, it's beautifully designed, using interactivity to put you inside these moments in a way only a video game could. It's also just the right length, saying exactly what it needs to say and then letting you sit with it. Overall it's a masterpiece and the best emotional experience I've ever had with a game - not an easy play, and not meant to be, but one of the most meaningful things I've ever experienced in this medium.1 found this helpful
Having lost my grandma to cancer, going through and reading all those cards made me truely realize how widespread cancer is. That feeling of watching someone you love slowley wither away from an illness that you can not do anything about except hope and pray is such a restricting feeling. I don't think I will ever play another game like this again. This will always have a special place in my heart.1 found this helpful
