Nice city builder with little stories and events, big positive is that it doesn't take forever, can enjoy a build over a few days and then start another one with different settings, good fun.

Fabledom is a charming, cozy city builder set in a trope-filled fantasy world. Despite its lack of originality, the execution is undeniably endearing and there is a level of gameplay polish which makes this game very smooth to play. The progression of unlocks is slow, and there aren't really a ton of new ideas going on here, but the game is so pleasant to play that you probably wont mind your first time around. Unfortunately, there isn't any variability in the types of challenges you'll encounter or other kingdoms to engage. One playthrough is probably going to be enough for most people to see it all. For that reason alone, and because no future content is planned, I suggest you look for a sale. This game is definitely worth a playthrough for anyone into the vibe and wanting a relaxing city builder, but don't expect to be coming back again and again. 7/10

As some others have stated, this isn't a game with a whole lot of depth, BUT that isn't a bad thing! In fact, for what I was looking for, I believe it was the perfect amount of depth. Fabledom is a simple, and short, game about building up your kingdom, in the quest for love. Player's build up their relationship with another ruler, and complete tasks for them, all in the name of marrying at the end of the game. The core of the game is just like any other city builder, albeit simplified overall, with a focus on maintaining happiness in characters as much as it is on meeting the bare necessities like food. Building decorations and other desirable buildings is as important as farming and mining, and this leads to a lot of creativity in not just where, but what you place around. And of course, the cutesy storybook vibe cannot be glossed over. Nothing in this game takes itself seriously, and that whimsy and joy is what makes the game so great. While I'm unsure of the replayability, I can't be mad at the time I got with it, just in a single, normal difficulty run. I'll likely give it another play through in the future, but even without, this game is well worth the play through.

I played this game 17 gameplay hours in 3 days. Very fun city builder for anyone who enjoys them. Highly recommend getting this any time its on sale. Its worth it.
