Great game! Played it way back when, and Nightdive has done the game justice. A classic Boomer Shooter every fan of the genre must play.

Love it, Cult Classic !!

Metroidvania plus FPS is a good combo! I recommend playing it on normal your first time around. The Hard and Pharaoh difficulty not only make the enemies tougher, but the amount of "ammo" and health you receive is significantly less. Let the harder difficulty options be for second, and third time playthroughs. The shooting feels pretty good in this game and the progression makes it addicting.

This is an under-the-radar 2.5D shooter that plays kinda like a Metroidvania. I think my favourite thing this game does is how you gain abilities and how it balances progression. Since Metroidvanias require a lot of backtracking, the designer needs to carefully balance giving the player powers that let you bulldoze through earlier levels while still keeping the later levels challenging. This is something this game does extremely well compared to other …
