About Hazard Pay

The job is simple: destroy evidence. Leave no trace. Don’t die in the process.Hazard Pay is a pixel-art block-pushing puzzler set in a crumbling dystopian world. You’ll navigate alone through abandoned and contaminated facilities, dodging environmental hazards while completing your employer’s checklist with calculated efficiency.

Pack up the truck and head to the site. Mop the floors. Remove the evidence. Destroy the ███████. Do not leave anything behind, not even your footsteps. There’s blood on the floor and smoke in the air. Relax. It’s just another accident to clean up. Do the job properly and no one has to get in trouble.

Each site is a compact, intricate puzzle with moving parts. You can use the environment to gather scattered documents or push ███████ into chemical barrels to erase any wrongdoing. One wrong move, and you could be trapped, dissolved in acid, or worse. Plan ahead. Improvise when you must. Stay sharp.

Global Leaderboards

Even after a job’s done, you can always go back. Every move is tracked, and your final step count determines your rank. Pull off a perfect run, and your name might just show up on the global leaderboard. Compare your stats with friends or the world. Just remember, your employer is always watching.

All you know is the name: IPT. No faces, no meetings. Just a radio, and they talk first. You can feel something’s off. But are you really ready to dig into it? Some things are better left buried.

Will you stay obedient… or resist?

Features

  • Ingenious, compact, handcrafted puzzle levels
  • Grid-based push/pull mechanics with environmental twists
  • Global and friends leaderboards
  • Dystopian narrative told through the environment

Na yeah! Love it. Underneath that warm fuzzy feeling we all get from the appreciation from seniority for disposing of bodies and hiding evidence is a series of really challenging puzzles. There have been countless which I have started with believing they are impossible only to work out through shear persistence that is not the case. Great work Smitner studios. Looking forwards to more.

As many other reviews have said: Sokoban with new mechanics. And the new mechanics tie in very well with the theme. Smooth onboarding w/ learn-by-doing levels, leaving all text for worldbuilding and story, and there's quite a bit more than expected of that for a game of this type, without ever overstaying its welcome. There's even branching story path for many puzzles' alternate solutions. Later levels do get quite challenging, but it never gets so far out to be unplannable; as long as you know the rules of all the mechanics and eliminate routes that are illegal, the solution eventually presents itself. On that note, experimentation is highly encouraged. Undos are unlimited, and even go through resets, with no penalty to minimum-move records. Online leaderboards provide a small measure of replayability, and eventual level editor should provide endless entertainment. Can't go wrong with the sticker price, and is a must-recommend for puzzle enthusiasts if on sale

loved the game the difficulty is just right, the vibe/ambience (also the OST!) is great very mysterious like and isolated. it has a demo which is from an older version but great to quickly know if youd like the game. maybe the length could have been a bit longer but if thats an issue then wait for a discount (took me around 8hrs without the afk time)

Good fun Sokoban with ~50 puzzles, some with alt solutions that affect the plot. The pixel art and sound effects are quite good, although some alt death sounds would be nice :P Was fun to hunt some puzzles, particularly the longer ones. A few secret easter eggs to find in the overworld. Overall a good, albeit short Sokoban.

It was a little smaller than I hoped it would be, but the setting and premise are interesting, I loved the sprites and later puzzles were genuinely challenging. Definitely worth it during the introductory sale
