ACRODRIFT: FPV Drone Simulator

I wasn't a part of any of the play throughs, demos or anything. I'm playing this at face value and i have to say it's a fun experience. It's a flight sim for FPV but it doesn't take itself TOO seriously.... dude i can be a drone made from a croc? lol a croc. which make me think, should home build a drone that is ridiculous like this? it's smooth and the gravity in this game ACTUALLY feels realistic. I thought i was going to buy this, hate it and return it. I was mistaken. I'm excited to see what the developer(s) do with it. i have the other flight sims (lift off, uncrashed, Trypfpv). I keep them and i like those too. But i've tried FPV lab and Zone whatever. This actually feels realistic, and seems like there is more fun that couldbe had with this without it taking away the realism of flight. could definitely seeing it be a good place to learn how to fly and have some fun too. Update: i am still enjoying this game. I also realized how LARGE some of these maps are. here i was thinking the level cut off at the top of the mountian..... nope!!!! Game lags a bit, but looks nice on ultra. Horrible physics. Throttle at low values behaves really weird. Small drones have low acceleration compared to real world. Speed values while flying down seem to be less than flying straight for some reason. Drones fall down slowly as customary for most simulators.

Honestly suprised me. I played Uncrashed, Liftoff, Tryp, FPVLabs and Velocidrone and Acrodrift has by far the best out of the box physics of any of those. It's not on the Level of The Zone, but you got loads of customization Options, building your own Quad with Motors, props and frames that all effect your Quad in ways you expect them to. Also some of the maps are absolutly gorgeous, lead by an Italien-Cityscape that is the most beautiful and fun map I've seen in a Sim so far and really scratched an itch for me, since I will probably never fly in a place like this for real, as much as I would love too, Some parts are still pretty barebones though, with the most annoying one beeing, that although the Challenge-Races are all set in the same maps you can choose for Freestyling, you can't start them from the map directly but rather have to go back to the Main-Menu reload the whole map and then start. You also can't just restart a Race by respawning and time just keeps on running until you reload the whole map as well. After you then finish the race, a massiv text overlays half your screen writing "Completed" that isn't closeable so you have to reload then too. Luckily, the perfo…

I played this during it's demo and it stuck with me, ya... It sit's in a place where Tryp fpv lives. Big open maps and plenty of space to zip around / explore. I like it's float (hang time) and it kind of reminds me of DRL, which is my happy zone for this type of flying. It's perfect to casually fly around & unwind. I look forward to more updates, maps, and drones in future. Yea, I would recommend it (decent price too for what you get). Note: Exclusion Zone map as of this date (Aug 11) is problematic. However, the Dev posted in the forum there's a performance issue with Nanite on that map. Not a big loss right now, it's basically an open map with endless trees & large radar antenna. The other maps are much better, so let this one bake in the oven a bit before flying it, unless you own a data center full of gpu's (wink).
