Glider Sim Deluxe – Soaring Simulator

Great game

Finally got around to playing this, and love it. I'm a pilot with about 6 years of actual paragliding experience (and a much smaller amount of hang gliding experience), among other aircraft types (including gliders), and this is really fun to use on sites where I've actually flown before. I'm finding it useful for spatial awareness and landing practice, as well as practicing thermalling. I currently have low hours on the game and may update the review later, but so far it's fun and relaxing, and very convenient compared with trying to get in real flying in New England! And much easier to start over if you sink out!

This works great on my DIY Steam Machine running Steam OS. I use my Meta Quest 3 via SteamLink which I was surprised it worked perfectly.

This is really fun and plays really smooth on my setup. The google maps data is surprising better than Microsoft flight simulator maps with more detail and real 3d buildings!

Really enjoyable flying app with lots of different ways to fly and glide about. I purchased Glider Island not long ago for £1.39 in a sale having missed it years back when it released and thought yes I like this, flying in VR is always a great sensation, then I saw this app had a free trial version so picked it up and it was absolutely amazing being able to glide anywhere in the world with various different glider types (some with engines) and being able to set up your launch ramp anywhere you want, even off the battlements of my local castle. I then realised this was the same dev as ancient in VR terms Glider Island. I immediately put the Deluxe version on my wishlist and got it on sale for £16 which was well worth it. I think it is a great VR companion to MSFS 2024 PSVR2. I love these 'whole world is yours to explore' apps and the mechanics are great as well.
