Greak: Memories of Azur

Difficult is fun, they confuse it with tedium.

Cute gimmick for a gameplay loop but ultimately pretty janky and makes any sense of fluidity in the gameplay get thrown out the window when you're mentally switching between two characters. feels like playing as slinky dog from toy story.

Short and beautiful game. Exploration and combat are pretty straight forward, but feel rewarding enough. Puzzles increase in complexity as you control up to three characters, and you progress the game, but it doesn't get frustrating. Combat, and bosses, are not too hard, if you time your attack and defense, especially as a squad. The cooking mechanic is a great way to always be stocked with healing items, and its cute to find combinations. There are optional relics to find, so exploration is rewarding. I missed about 3 of them, so it's nice to say that you have to work a bit fot them. Story is a nice touch, as you aren't looking to save the world as the chosen one. You are trying to find your siblings and escape a plague that is consuming the world; but the weight of your actions is felt, as you touch the lives of the people you meet.

There is very little I can complain about in this game. We have: - 3 different interchangeable characters with mechanics that synergize with the environment which help with puzzle platforming - Enough enemy types that they don't feel repetitive but also don't make you feel overwhelmed - A nice level design that is complex enough that will make you backtrack but not big enough that it becomes tedious - A story... I mean, it's there. Nothing out of this world or anything, I'm sure they'll expand on it a lot more on its sequel. - Neat combat mechanics that could be a bit more polished for more intensive fights, but are simple enough that anyone can understand. - A variety of other tools and mechanics you can use that are not pertinent to the story but definitely come in handy (For example, cooking, expanding your inventory, increasing power, etc) The game is fairly simple but does a good job at being as complex as a simple game can be. Getting all achievements didn't feel boring since you can get basically all of them in a single run (But realistically two, since your first playthrough will be a lot slower). My advice is that... I KNOW you want to explore, but just stick to mission…

Sweet game. But it leaves much to be desired. Not to mention the pseudo-co op game makes it harder to fight against bosses

Very good game. Could be finished in about 5-6 hours.
