About Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU

Wield the dance of the shaman. Reclaim your father’s spirit.

A grieving boy begins to read a Bantu tale written by his late father. Adventure into the beautiful and treacherous lands of Kenzera as Zau, a young shaman who bargains with the God of death to bring his Baba back from darkness.

With your cosmic powers and untried courage, you advance into unknown mythological lands. Once bursting with life, Kenzera is now rife with lost ancestral spirits. As Zau advances toward his goal, 3 mighty beings lie in wait, fearsome in their strength yet somehow strangely familiar. Will you embrace the dance of the shaman?

KEY FEATURES:
Crafted by Surgent Studios, the entertainment studio founded by actor Abubakar Salim (Assassin's Creed: Origins, Raised by Wolves) and published by EA Originals, Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU takes you on a thrilling emotional journey inspired by the rich myths of Bantu cultures.

Game is short but it has a touching story and interesting visuals. It's weaker in the gameplay department than some of its contemporaries, but it has the makings of something much more interesting. I think if this studio makes a follow up, whether a sequel or a different game in the same genre, they will be able to add the polish it needs to really make the mechanics shine. I highly recommend this game, very worth the handful of hours it'll take you to 100% it

I wouldn't recommend for metroidvania fans. Controls feel weird. Basic movement set is too simple. World isn't very refined to the platforming.

Really enjoyable game. Also very cool to get something based on African mythology. Great fit for Steam Deck too. There is a Deck preset, but I found you can get even higher settings playable by disabling AA and Vsync. Buttery smooth and very pretty

Beautiful game with a great story, great voice acting, great soundtrack and fun mechanics. I loved how the game incorporated various common aspects of Bantu culture and I hope to see more games in the future that incorporate more African cultures. P.S. I saw that some people were reviewing the game badly not because of the game but because EA sold themselves to the Saudi's. I do agree that is bad but, review a game like this with how small the developer is only hurts the developer and not the publisher.
