The art direction is amazing, simply phenomenal. The score, is great.....but it does get repetitive, whereas midway through it becomes less and less special. Those are the positives, that is it. Gameplay is horrific, and is my biggest issue with this game. The game is in substance very short, but it will take the player some time to realize that all the side-quests are worthless, the rewards are common trash you can either buy, or just get naturally from certain areas of the map from crates or natural nodes that respawn whenever you reload the area. The game shows you all its interesting combat aspects in the tutorial, and sadly the game makes almost no use out of the coolest combat feature the deflection of an enemies bullet, as most of the time you're essentially required to only use firearms. There are several weapons to unlock, but the pistol has the best range, and accuracy. Just to give an example of how poorly thought out the combat is, the sniper rifle literally becomes less accurate at range.....with the pistol having better range and accuracy. 70% of enemies will be positioned fine for the player to deal with, but 30% will be in absolutely horrific spots that will mak…7 found this helpful
the final scene before the last boss bugged out on me. I love some ideas from this game but there's some frustrations that HEAVILY stain the game for me. the metroidvania aspect of this game doesn't go too far, if you're wondering. there's 1 weapon and one movility upgrade and that's it, so buyer beware, the tag may be just too much for my taste. as an action-adventure game though, does it hold up? yes* but it's morea game suited for player who enjoy difficulty and stylish combat rather than progressing and slowly expanding abilities to enhance the movility. what you see is what you get, mostly. another heavy blow is how insanely easy it is to die. sometimes you'll stay stuck between a rock and a hard place with no way out other than just "git gud" or a very lucky break. did I like this game? I find some ideas quite interesting, and I know for sure the developers put a lot of love in this, you can feel it, but I don't think it was a good experience. some characters have the personality of a cardboard box (I'm looking at YOU map guy), and the game heavily wants you to invest emotionally in them. I will say that the movility starts to feel great at the very end, with that single…1 found this helpful
Absolutely incredible game 10/10 Amazing Art, Music, Story and Gameplay.
Played because the visuals and gameplay looked unique and exciting. Both were as enjoyable as I had hoped and other aspects like the main story and the music were also as great. The existing weaknesses are mainly to do with side content or optional mechanics. In conclusion great experience Would recommend for all.
Billions must try this game. The level designs, the slickness of killing enemies and simultaneously doing cool tricks, the soulful worldbuildning, Laika's chemistry with everyone else - it's too good to pass up.
Great music, very fun, non-standard gameplay, atmospheric story; Over all a short, but great experience
