One of those games i had on my wishlist so long it got a sequel, finally tried it out and it was pretty good, finished one run but with a sequel coming i didnt feel the need to do more runs even though i had unlocked all the new characters to try. It feels a bit long for the style of game but too short to be like a tactical rpg campaign, thinking of a single "Run" and how long it would take and all the little finicky things like looting so many loot piles made me not really wanna bother with a second run but wishlisting the next game all the same.

This game is an absolute delight. It will punish careless mistakes and it will reward clever strategy with some truly epic moments. The music is excellent as well. If you enjoy games like Dungeon of the Endless and XCOM, you'll love this.

So, not all characters are equal, some are significantly better than others, so I was struggling early game. Gideon is, in my opinion way stronger than most others, if not all, I have not yet unlocked every character, so he might just be the best I have. However, being able to consistently kill 3-5 enemies on the enemy turn... straight S+ pick. There are some mechanics I am not a fan of, armor shredding gets out of control... the enemies have very high accuracy for my team being in cover and they quickly shred my guys that have armor and there are not enough scraps to find to deal with it consistently. I understand that it's a risk to take, but no other characters have this 'resource' to manage. Other than the notes above, there is a lot of fun to be had here. It's a different take on XCOM, its a shorter game, but that is totally fine. Lets me run a different squad and find some different synergies or playstyles I can have fun with.

I should have played this sooner. Yeah it's basically pixel XCOM, but the art and style is very awesome, and there are some very cool new mechanics. The rogue-like nature of needing to manage your supplies vary carefully combined with the general objective to "just escape" makes the battles feel quite different in a good way.

I bought the game 2 days ago, and i'm having a great time exploring what i assume is the UK. Personally feel the difficulty for a first run was nailed just right on medium, and i can see myself enjoy hard mode once i understand the mechanics a little more, if you enjoy turn based tactics with a dash of survival resource management, then buy Shardpunk. Pro: - Simple to learn combat mechanics with enough depth to entertain you for a few runs. - Chapters and encounters are well paced, not too long or short, with enough loot that you'll never be truly tapped for resources, but rarely feel like you have enough to consider yourself safe. - Each chapter has a few routes you can take, allowing you to pick which fight sounds most doable to you, or allowing you to fast track whatever route has the best looting options. - The characters, while somewhat devoid of story, will occasionally call out encouragement to the others, making them feel a little more alive. con: - Armor values on the ratogres seems a bit high, if you didn't get any shred or pierce by the time they show up you'll likely spend a turn or two chipping at a brick wall with malicious intent. - Dodge is a somewhat irritating …
