Play as a nameless bald thug causing medieval mayhem in this top-down GTA-style sandbox filled with twisted missions, absurd humor, and anachronistic chaos like automatic crossbows and holy hand grenades. Steal horses, join the Grand Tournament, betray allies, and embrace the Monty Python-inspired ridiculousness as you wreak havoc across a hilariously broken feudal world.

Rustler is an open-world, top-down action game paying tribute to the good old GTA style and gameplay, fusing it with a historically inaccurate medieval setting. Play as The Guy, whose parents apparently were too lazy to give him a proper name. Experience feudal injustice, inquisition, witch-hunting, and join The Grand Tournament. Meet valiant, yet incredibly stupid knights. Complete a wide variety of twisted missions and quests, or don’t give a damn about the plot and bring mayhem in the villages and cities. Choose to go on foot, or by a stolen horse. Fight with a sword or pick a fancy automatic crossbow. All that, spiced up with an inappropriate Monty Python inspired sense of humor.

A bard can be your sweaty personal radio. Not only will he not leave your side, even in the midst of the bloodiest of conflicts, he will also change the song's dynamic depending on the action on-screen. Moreover, you can express a desire to change the tune by punching him in the face.

I really tried with this one. I kept playing it and then leaving it... then coming back to it. Each revisit began to feel more oppressive than the last, The gameplay as a whole is just so lame. Combat is weak, moving around the game world is an absolute slog. and there's no real character progression. Story and setting are just plain dumb. The "GTA Horse" concept seemed to have potential but it turns out medieval gangsters aren't amusing after all. In fact, they're quite annoying. Probably played this 6 hours longer than I needed to... Thanks to the Steam friend who gifted this to me - even though I didn't like the game you are still awesome. :D19 found this helpful
Issues that should have been patched near or before launch. I wanted to like this game, The opening cinematic is pretty great, it really is a shame that there are still technical issues for a game this old. I guess sometimes waiting to play a game doesn't mean a stable and quality product. I want to be able to enjoy this game but broken controls make the game a frustrating chore. It is a shame cause if the controls were playable the game would probably be a very nice little throw back but technical issues like needing to spam the vehicle button to get on a mount and even then it rarely working is just plan sad. Will be requesting a refund. Disappointed.2 found this helpful
It's... pretty good. Nothing amazing, but it is both funny, fun to play, and has a bunch of mechanics that really show that the developers cared and this was not a half-assed game.
Fun little game with perfect amounts of humor, action and a bit of jank.
Kinda hard to believe that only ~7% finished the main storyline because the game is very decent. Graphics are nice, plot is simple and easy to follow, easter eggs and jokes keep you entertained throughout the whole gameplay. I guess my only issues are with some bugs that seem were never fixed in the past 5 years like audio crashes when there's too many sounds being played at once or that at some point when you get drunk, the effect does not wear off and you have to reload the game. Wish there was a sequel to this.
The game is silly and fun, controls can be a little jank at times but overall this is a good game.
