Rune Factory 5

Looks and plays like a PS2 game. It's one of those games that isn't BAD exactly, there just isn't much of a reason to play this one over RF4. It's unbalanced at times (like Elsje can throw an item worth 500,000g at you, there's huge difficulty spikes in the woodland area on normal mode, lots of grind too). Some of the characters are so boring (ANOTHER amnesiac protagonist), the 3D world feels big but shallow, the placement system is hard to use (why isn't it grid based like the farming is? It's so hard to precisely place anything due to no grid and touchy controls), and it's made worse by clunky controls. However, some things I do like: Gay marriage is something I wish the older games had, crafting is better/less of a chore, lots of new features like a Wanted Monster system But still, this game just feels outdated and a little half baked. Only worth it on sale or for big rune factory fans 6.8/10

Game is fine, but their controller support is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It says on it that it will "Support your controller". I have a steam controller and without going into the files and heavily modifying it alongside multiple mods and BepinEx, which by the way DISABLES ALL ACHIEVEMENTS, you will NEVER be able to see any controller prompts. Attack, oh just press K on your controller that you're in the game moving around with. K isn't B which is what the controller USES TO ATTACK.

More people get the achievement for finishing the story than the achievement for making it to winter for the first time In all seriousness however Rune Factory 5 has a lot of charm to offer. I don't think it's a good entry point into the series for brand new players, but if you've played any previous RFs then you'll have a good time with this one

This game sure builds upon the older Rune Factory games. The days much longer, and it actually feels like you can get a lot done, progression is nice and slow. The new combat feels great, really enhanced by the 3D enviroment. The characters are pretty memorable, with some of the best entries yet in the franchise.

Ugh...😣 NEED MORE FEMALE NPC! ATLEAST PUT 1 MOMMY SPEC merryable NPC.... All female here are KIDS... I love the mermaid & HOTSPRING lady on RuneF3...(NDS) Also i prefer the RF3 opening... "Fly higher🎶" Evrything cost RP and now way to regain RP except from certain food or bath, and no way to increase RP & HP. YES or No? Hmm... I will give it 6/10. RF3 is way better, like alot alot.

I've been playing 3 Rune Factory games back to back. Started off with Guardians of Azuma, then moved onto Rune Factory 4 and now Rune Factory 5. I enjoyed Guardians of Azuma and Rune Factory 4 - the former is more sleek modern entry whereas the latter is retro entry with lots of charm mixed with some frustration. Rune Factory 5 isn't sleek nor charming like other two Rune Factory games I've played. I'm playing on since I already bought the game and is past refund period/time range, but I definitely prefer Guardians of Azuma and Rune Factory 4 much more over this game. I bought the game when it was on 65% discount and still don't think it is worth the money.
