I love this game. It's a bit simpler than Rune Factory 4 but the story and cast is fantastic. I played probably hundreds of hours on the original DS release and the special edition is ALMOST as good. I highly recommend adding the original voice lines mod from the steam workshop cause when they redid the voice acting for the little snippets of text it was nothing like the original games. Poor Raven and Daria were hit the hardest. (I tested and that mod doesn't affect achievements incase you were worried about that) For those who have never played a Rune Factory game, it's kind of like Stardew Valley in that the base game is a farming sim but there's so much more to do. There's so many skills (it's the main gimmick of the Rune Factory series) where as you level up a specific weapon, your ability to find hidden loot, or even your ability to sleep, your character grows stronger so it's not all about combat to level you up and get stronger. You play as a male antagonist who fell from the sky and has amnesia (a trope for all Rune Factory games at this point) and has the ability to transform into a Wooly (this world's monster version of a sheep) Sadly there's no gender option in this…6 found this helpful
Rune factory 3 walked so that Rune Factory 4 could run. The systems, and honestly everything about the game, are a lot simpler than 4, but it's still a great intro to the series; arguably the perfect way to wet your feet. If you get any enjoyment out of this game, then 4 is perfect for you. If you enjoyed 4, you'll see the foundations of it here. I would still advise to not pay full price for this game, but any discount under 20$ usd is a must, and it regularly seems to dip down to 10$1 found this helpful
I'm Sean Prime and I approve of this game!
While not as overly polished or content rich as Rune Factory 4 Special, I think it's a good game in its own right. The game only has a male protagonist, but if that's not an issue, you get a great, large roster of bachelorettes to choose from and a short but sweet package. It's also a fine experience if you want the more relatively classic Rune Factory experience.
Beautiful and fun
Played this game on 2009 alongside with the OG Rune Factory series back when NDS and 3DS is a thing. Coming back to this game for over a decade later, still loving every second of it. This may be an underated game, but for me, it was the game that made my childhood more colorful. Interestingly, this game was introduced to me by my sister, which happened to be not close to when we were young. Looking back, I feel like I could've done better, and so playing this game again, makes me really happy from this dark hours of worlds. Thank you so much for remaking this game, it has been a blast!
