An incredibly fun game which is not incredibly difficult, but still challenging if you want to get everything unlocked. A mix of tower defense and boss fight simulator, it's a fun game that takes some time to fully let you explore its options and enjoy it. I would recommend this game very much, as I did 100% the achievements, but would caution the game has its fair bit of learning curve. The game is not as responsive as one might hope, specifically due to stylistic choices with how the game handles its attacking style. It takes patience to learn, but is satisfying once you do learn it. The game also has an incredible style, and is also incredibly creepy with its enemy designs. I love the dip into japanese folklore as someone with only passing knowledge of its depths and intricacies. I also enjoy the games ability to make everything stylish as hell. My main complaints would be that sometimes the bosses feel a little unfun, especially when trying to time attack them for rewards. In addition, in order to get every item (not every achievement), you need to redo the game around nine times or so through NG+ to unlock the Mazo talismans, which is a trial in and of itself. Really wanted to like this game since I love the genre. Sadly, there is just too much down time. You run around camps and do busy work, then before a combat round you run around and do busy work. It just feels like there is too much going on between the meat of the game. Sadly, putting this one down :(

Decent game, I liked it but didn’t quite catch me. i still recommend it. May get it in the future if it ever comes back.

I know I have played this for only 7 hours but those 7 hours is what convinced me to recommend this game. It is a fun action-strategy game where replaying stages have benefits to getting upgrades for you and the villager you recruit during stages. For the most part the music is pretty good, especially when the drums are kicking in at the start during the night phases and hearing the villagers chant and dance in combat ready waiting to fight the demons. It hits me deep like a primal urge and I wonder if it's like that for everyone else that plays this. There is a demo for the game if you are curious, but it is definitely a game I'll attempt to 100% when I can.
