FINAL FANTASY® XIII

A FALSE RPG I love Final Fantasy, but this is pure crap. The game is just walking down a corridor (which wasn't an issue in FFX), fighting the same enemies, and repeating the same attacks over and over. You don't actually level up; you just receive points to spend on a rigid, scripted stat tree with zero freedom to create your own builds. Equipment alters stats as well, but it makes virtually no difference in practice. While the cutscenes are gorgeous (even at lower resolutions), the soundtrack is solid, and characters like Lightning, Snow, and Sazh are interesting, there is hardly any variety. Aside from those few highlights, this is an disgraceful release from a company that used to make top-tier RPGs.

After playing a bunch of Final Fantasy games I can say without a doubt that no other FF has felt this extense by far, and yeah you probably guessed it, its the gameplay, it's flawed, like FFVIII levels of flawed, I readed the reviews before buying so I knew what I was getting into, the battle idea is fun, but actually battling just feels way too long, even if you have a strong build or you do manual commands, upgrading is chore, crystalarium is a chore, the whole game feels like you're being forced to continue rather than batling because it's enjoyable. With that said, I kept playing and probably will keep playing because at the end it's still a Final Fantasy, an interesting story, lovable characters and a great sountrack, I experienced maybe one crash at most, the game went smooth always and my PC is Irish levels of potato.

The final fantasy that ruined the whole franchise to me and how on hell did it get 2 sequels is beyond me. I still remember playing it on the PS3 back then and god what even with this awful gameplay and extremal dumb story that you NEED to read a frigging data log EVERY second to even understand what's going on. I don't understand why some people give this game a high rating which it doesn't deserve...I guess most of them never played a real Final Fantasy game I guess. It have great graphic and amazing soundtrack at least but other than that this game single handedly killed the franchise to me.

The game is good but it's impossible to run via Steam as far as I know. Played this game a couple years back now and had virtually no issues when I could access via Game Pass. Using the same exact graphics card as I was then too so I dunno whats the dealio. Just get the game through the Microsoft store unfortunately and it should work. I shouldn't have to research a way to play a game I already bought. Steam should make their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ app work better.

garbage, the stagger mechanic ruins the game for me.

I persisted with the game for several hours because I was assured it "gets good" at some point. It is bloated with cutscenes that reveal nothing, explore nothing, say nothing, and drag on for so long that that even "action" becomes boring. The upgrade system is on rails, as is the world. I am genuinely baffled that anyone enjoyed their time with this, but all the more power to those that did I guess.
