This critically-acclaimed game, which mixes traditional command-based combat and real-time action, makes its Steam debut along with FF7R EPISODE INTERmission─a new story arc featuring Yuffie Kisaragi.
■STORY
By exploiting mako, the life-blood of the planet, through their mako reactors, the Shinra Electric Power Company has all but seized control of the entire world. A ragtag group of idealists, known as Avalanche, are one of the last bastions of resistance.
Cloud, an elite SOLDIER operative-turned-mercenary takes part in an Avalanche operation to destroy Mako Reactor 1 in the city of Midgar.
The bombing plunges the city into fiery chaos, and Cloud is tormented by visions of a bitter enemy long thought dead.
Once more begins a story that will shape the destiny of an entire world.
* This game is a remake of FINAL FANTASY VII, first released in 1997.
The first title in a multi-part series, it is based on the story from the original game, up to the escape from Midgar, adding in new elements.

I need to point out that I never played the original game. All my experience with this saga comes from Final Fantasy Remake. Keep that in mind when reading this review. Beginning with the graphics, the visuals in this game are stunning, especially coming from a ported PS4 game. I rarely focus on this aspect when writing a review, but they surprised me so much that I really feel the need to. Not only do the locations of this game look realistic, but every character model looks astonishing. And somehow this game still runs smoothly without any kind of issue. All of those characters are also an excellent addition to this game. Everyone is lovable and has a unique personality and quirks, and you end up liking pretty much every single one of them. Only a few games manage to make the main characters feel this important and memorable. Each one of them is crafted with love by the developers, and you can clearly feel that. Even if they are all stereotypical JRPG characters, they are well made in their own way. The story nowadays is a bit generic. Maybe not so much in 1997, but at the time of writing this review, it's very predictable and basic, which is totally understandab…

Can't believe that i just played a 30 hour game that originally was 4 hours in the og.
gameplay and combat is trash. flow of combat is slowed down due to having to take time to switch characters and select abilities. Enemies have attacks that cannot be dodge 90% of the time. Game is snails pace, full of cut sense, annoyingly repeated dialog and poorly design combat.
Great story and game.
