About FINAL FANTASY XVI

✦ AI summary

Wield the power of ancient Eikons as Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy's first true action RPG, battling rival Dominants in titanic clashes across a dark fantasy realm consumed by tragedy and revenge. Master dynamic swordplay and devastating elemental abilities while experiencing an epic story tailored to your preferred difficulty, from story-focused accessibility to challenging action-focused combat.

The first fully fledged Action RPG in the mainline Final Fantasy series.
An epic dark fantasy world where the fate of the land is decided by the mighty Eikons and the Dominants who wield them. This is the tale of Clive Rosfield, a warrior granted the title “First Shield of Rosaria” and sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the dominant of the Phoenix. Before long, Clive will be caught up in a great tragedy and swear revenge on the Dark Eikon Ifrit, a mysterious entity that brings calamity in its wake.

Titanic Clashes - When rival Dominants come head to head, epic battles between their Eikons ensue!

Eikonic Action - Clive utilizes the powers of multiple Eikons in breakneck battle!

From Strength to Strength

A plethora of powerful swordplay techniques and Eikonic abilities lie within Clive's remit—and it is up to you to decide which ones you wish to learn or upgrade. If you're having trouble choosing, upgrades can be unlocked automatically.

Story-focused mode is recommended for those players who are less comfortable with action games and wish to focus more on the game's story elements. In this mode, Clive will automatically evade some attacks, and epic Eikonic combos can be triggered with simple button presses. Action-focused mode, where Clive's every action is controlled by the player, is available for those who are confident in their skill—or want to test it.

I really love the game! The gameplay is very immersive and the story is fantastic. Even the side quests play a significant role in the story and find a way to keep you involved! Having played very far into the game, I am confident I will finish it. This game is story driven with a great plot that makes you want to keep going. Not only that however it has great combat mechanics that are highly customizable! 10/10 highly recommend!

Never regretted. Game is that good. 9/10, wish I could forget and play again.

Not a great JRPG game but a solid 8/10 action game. Playing this right after Crimson Desert helped me realized a great story can really carry a game despite being a much darker story than the usual FF , the forgettable story of CD turned me away from that game really fast in spite of the great gameplay. The progression is really linear so there's not much RPG in this game and the sidequests can be boring at time but the visual feast of the main quests and the Eikon fights is just too good that i think everyone should give it a try. Wait for a sale to get the main game and all the dlcs , totally worth it.

the graphic, animation, character design, story, are all amazing. the gameplay is fun with a lot of combo to try out. the world of ffxvi is a treat for the eyes, and clive is a great protagonist, though i love joshua rosfield the most. the down side is some of the first cutscenes of the game are quite heavy and may or may not force closed the game a few times (though it's most likely caused by my lacking device). but other than that i have little complaints for this game

The game is too long for what it is. Story itself and characters are interesting. But the gameplay gets repetitive quite fast, just series of monster arenas with frequent bosses (mostly sponges that take too long to beat) There is only one playable character with one weapon type (= no variability) and the only thing you can upgrade is damage. The quests, both main and side, will sometimes send you running around which gets frustrating. Usually you return to main hub and it sends you to talk to 3 different people that are away from each other, then you unlock side quests and you need to visit other people and there is no fat travel within the hub to speed things up. And I do not understand what the money is for in this game, if you remove it, the systems could be more streamlined and quicker and nothing would be lost really. You occasionaly buy new sword after main story mission, and then just refill potions. Either there are unfinished featurest that were supposed to buyable, or the money was slapped on at last moment without much thought. It is not a bad game for the story, but it is stretched out and frustratingly repetitive

FF16 is absolutely a great game in its own right and it deserves more praises. I'm (very) late to the train and, from what I gathered before started playing, I expected it to be mid. I was wrong. This is a unique experience we couldn't find in any other title and it's well worth our time and investments. Some people might say the graphic looks not that good despite the performance it requires. And yes, they would be right, in a way. It's not very high def nor detailed but I'd say the art direction is solid and overall the game still looks beautiful, though not very smooth some times. The game still runs very reasonably for me at 2K High settings with DLSS Balance. Now, the game has some serious design flaws that keep it from being a masterpiece. Its HIGH's are VERY high but it's diluted with numbers of significant LOW's. Thank the Founder, these LOW's are mostly optional but they still eat up like 10-15% of the main story which I heard have made A LOT of people quit, almost got me too. Also, your character's growth progresses very slowly in the beginning so the combat was first very simple, almost boring, but it picks up and gets really fun and very engaging like halfw…
