I really enjoyed the world building of this one. Many NPCs can be interacted with just for the heck of it, and there are a lot of areas to discover. If you come from FFXIV you'll see quite a lot of enemies and general gameplay ideas that are nearly identical to each other which is interesting to see. XII can be summed up as a FFXIV-lite in my opinion. There is a lot of similarities but it doesn't quite do anything better than FFXIV. If you are willing to pay for a subscription then you are better off just playing FFXIV, otherwise this is still a great game to get in to. The characters are likeable and the story is easy to follow along to. The hunt system is a little sluggish for the entire process of doing a hunt (go to hunt board -> talk to person who put up the bill -> hunt target -> return to person for reward), but otherwise the hunt targets are varied and interesting enough to keep you coming back to the hunt board. The gambit system is a neat idea, very similar to Dragon Age: Origins in nature, but the commands you give your people are very surface level. You can only set up to 12 gambits per character at a time, and for the spell-casters it isn't great to work with becau…1 found this helpful
It is a lot of fun, a little buggy loading, but if you open it 4 or 5x it will eventually work.

It's one of the best ff, especially the music, it's so rich.
One of my favorite games. 8.5+/10 world, 8.5/10 characters. Basch might be my favorite character out of any video game or movie. I really like the gambit combat system. I am not a fan of the job system since I can never decide what to pick. I constantly wrestle between lore and what I should do generally speaking. If you don't care about lore and just play to optimize and don't care who does what then this won't be a problem for you. Solid game overall and one of the better Final Fantasy's out there. I'd say 6, 7, and 10 are better than 12. 9 and 13 are worse than 12.
underrated. Its pretty cooooooooooooooooool
