[後半に日本語レビューあり]
"Where It Ends, It Begins" — A Reverse-Growth JRPG
The hero who defeated the demon lord Guile paid for that victory with his life. With five days granted by the gods, he must face the people he loves, the problems left unresolved, and the future of the world he saved. This game traces its roots to a 2007 feature-phone title, passing through a full PS Vita remake in 2016 before arriving in its current form. That Shoji Masuda's experimental game design has finally reached a modern PC audience, transformed along the way, speaks to the durability of its core concept. That concept is simple and singular: begin at full strength, and grow weaker with each passing day. Not growth — regression — is the heart of this game. Time management is the essence of the gameplay. The hero's action capacity and combat ability decline daily, so the question of what to prioritize is always present. Eight heroines across the world each carry their own circumstances and story, and covering all of them in a single run is impossible. Quest completion, depth of bonds with heroines, resolution of outstanding problems — the accumulated weight of these choices ultimately converges in the…

[SPOILERS AHEAD] This game takes one of the best concepts for a game I have ever seen, runs it through the garbage disposal a few times, and then hands it back to you on a silver platter. I wanted so bad to like this game but there are so many issues with it. The biggest one is just really that despite having an incredibly cool concept its executes it in a pretty mediocre way and the main bulk of the game is actually just... waifuslop and generic rpg combat. I would have loved an in-depth exploration of what it would look like for the main protagonist to slowly wither away in a world taking place after his death and trying to solve his unresolved regrets. To a degree, that IS what the game is going for. Honestly though, I think the fact that the world changes each loop based on the previous loops hurts the game IMMENSELY. It would have been so much better executed if that weren't the case, and you (as the player/MC) learning new information about the world could change your own options (like a normal time loop plot). The requirement to do at least 3 loops (in a not-that-short game btw) in order to get the ending is a bit much. But, this gets WAY worse when you consider the fact t…

Overall I had a good time and recommend this game, but I would only recommend buying it on sale. At the start, the game really feels like a dating sim as you are told to look for your lost love. The characters feel like very stereotypical Japanese archetypes, but I'm into that. You get to try different party compositions, different quests and different love options each run, which brings variety. It's really fun to look around and try different things. However, some parts of the game progression can be hard to figure out on your own, so if it's starting to feeling repetitive, I'd recommend looking up a guide. Combat is rather simple even if a bit puzzling at times. The biggest thing to look out for is weaknesses and resistances, which you can generally tell by the color of the enemy, but tougher enemies may require optimizing your party or fighting them while the hero is still in good condition. In general, don't expect particularly strategic battles, but rather strategy in preparations. The story was actually a satisfying short story. I liked seeing all the endings I got. To be honest, I bought this game because it has Kenji Ito soundtrack, but most of it doesn't really stand…

First impression comments: 1. Progression system I love how the core system of the game flips the progression system of generic RPGs on its head. Your hero starts the game on max level, stats, equipment, and spells, but over the course of the 5 in-game days, the Hero gets more and more tired as he gets closer to re-death. After every few hours, your body becomes more worn out, and you start to lose access to high level equipments and spells and need to start downgrading your equipments that are too heavy. In this sense, your MC starts the game strong, but becomes weaker overtime. So you need to start recruiting other party members to mitigate that MC power loss. 2. Quests TBA This game has better mechanics than Astral Party, which automatically means it's a good game. 👍
Good, but it gets repetitive really fast
The premise of this game is quite original: you are the strongest hero in the land, and you have already won. However, you also died in the final battle, and now you have only five days to settle the issues that have arisen in the postgame. And you'd better be quick about it, because as time passes you keep getting weaker! So far so good. The issue is, this game hides a lot of information to the player. Every heroine, there are
six
of them, has two quests to complete before you can access the true ending. You can see which quests you have completed in the gallery (which also spoils stuff. Seriously, what were the Devs thinking?). However, if you don't complete their second quest in the next playthrough, then you'll lose all your progress on that heroine, and you will have to do everything again! Vivi's quests are the worst ones, since she sells items that are needed for other quests, and she keeps moving around. To save you a lot of headaches, just
move from one location to another until you meet her three times. She'll then ask to join you, and that will be the end or her first quest. For the second q…

Got this game in a bundle, and in the beginning I thought it was a low effort game; but after playing few times, I can say that it is an interesting indie game. The concept is that you area dead but you come back for 5 days; and during these 5 days you get weaker and weaker and have to complete 2 quests for each of the "companions" you encounter. This means you have to play the game 5 days period over and over until you get to the right conditions to complete the game. It is not straightforward for sure, but the story at the end explains why and it actually make sense. The story is actually cliche but the real story is quite deeper and more involved than just kill the demon king or stuff like that. When you reach the "true ending" it is quite enjoyable, and I would suggest to try out yourself to find the right way to get there, before use a guide. The game itself is really barebone; turn based combat with few spells and weapons; and as time goes by you forget your spells so need to rely on your allies more and more. graphics are like a PS one game or a Vita game; which is not bad, and sound is quite nice but repetitive. I recommend this game but only if you are into brief turn …
