About Squad

✦ AI summary

Lead a 9-person squad in massive 50 vs. 50 battles across realistic maps with 13 factions and authentic combined-arms warfare emphasizing teamwork, communication, and tactical vehicle and fortification systems. Squad delivers military authenticity through Picture-in-Picture scopes, a suppression system, building mechanics, and logistics that reward coordinated squad play over individual skill.

Squad is the embodiment of tactical military action. Compete in massive-scale 50 vs. 50 battles in the most realistic combined-arms first-person shooter. Squad emphasizes combat realism through teamwork, tactics, and authentic warfare. A wide selection of realistic faction-specific weapons and vehicles allow players to build their own loadouts that best suit their preferred tactics. And with Squad’s unique Picture-in-Picture scopes, it’s like you’re really aiming at the enemy through real military-issue scopes.
Featuring 13 factions, 24 massive maps, and a sweeping arsenal of weapons and vehicles, Squad creates a heart-thumping, visceral shooter experience that requires split-second decision-making in intense, realistic firefights.

New in Update 10.1: Fireteam

Fireteam is Squad's new PvE gamemode that has launched with Update 10.1. This up to 5-player co-op PvE mode condenses the game’s most memorable moments into shorter, intense tactical missions. Four missions are available to all Squad players. Those who wish to support the ongoing development of Fireteam can choose to purchase either the Supporter or Founder pack - linked from this page.

Massive 50 vs. 50 Battles

Squad creates authentic combat experiences while pitting conventional and unconventional factions against each other. As part of a 50 person team, join a nine-person squad to face off against opposing factions in intense combat across large real-world environments. Squad features 13 factions from all over the world, including the United States Marine Corps, Australian Defence Force, and Canadian Army among many others.

Ultra-Realistic Infantry Combat

Squad’s combat was designed to provide the most fun, immersive, and authentic infantry experience possible. With Squad’s core tenets of teamwork and tactics, you’ll have to work together to outmaneuver your enemies with realistic Picture-in-Picture scopes and Squad’s unique Suppression system. Work with your squad to overwhelm the enemy and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!

Building & Logistics System

Adapt to the ever-changing needs of the battlefield. By building fortifications and emplacements or supplying your team with ammunition and materials, you can give your squad the edge. Whether it’s placing HMGs and AT guns or fortifying a position with sandbags, razor wire, and some much-needed ammo, the battlefield is yours to change, if you have the courage to do so.

Communication

Solid communication is a soldier's best friend when engaging the enemy. To help facilitate navigating the complexity of communication on the battlefield, Squad provides a world-class in-game VoIP system that allows players to talk to other soldiers locally, in-squad, between squad leaders, or even to the overall team commander. Map tools and in-world markers aid fire team leads and squad leaders to inform their soldiers of on-the-fly engagement tactics.

Squad — 8/10 I’ve been playing Squad for around six years and have over 2,000 hours in the game, so I’ve seen a lot of its changes over the years. Overall, I’d give Squad an 8/10. It’s one of the best tactical shooters out there, and despite its problems, I’ve put thousands of hours into it for a reason. The Good Performance could definitely be better. On my current PC it runs fine, but my old PC started to struggle despite the parts not even being that bad. The move to Unreal Engine 5 genuinely made the game look and feel better in a lot of ways, but it also came with a noticeable performance hit. The gunplay has come a long way. Back in the beta, the game felt slightly more like Battlefield. Then, around three years ago, the ICO was introduced. The ICO was pretty rough when it first launched and was heavily criticised, but after several years of updates and changes, I think it’s now in a decent spot. At the moment, there is somewhat of a content drought, but honestly, after 2,000 hours over six years, I can’t complain too much about the amount of content I’ve got out of the game. And if you want even more, there are loads of community-made mods available through the Steam Wo…

Look the game itself is really nice.. but I'm gonna label this as bi**h simulator cuz there's all to it I can't experience the game with a shi* gear every single time I picked sniper or rpg…or even an AR with a optic, then the server admin's boyfriend would start whining about him wanting the better gear, so I would either get kicked from the server or handed the sloppy ♥♥♥♥ gear... LIKE WTF??? the only time I was able to experience was when it was seeding and later I found out I was fighting with bots -_- this why I bought the game to be someone else bi**h? I would highly recommend getting wardgos game instead of this, I can do whatever I want or however I want to play

Developers can't fix issues for years and instead of that they keep providing new content like skins, useless gamemodes, new bugs, old bugs that was already fixed and constant crashes. Huge optimization problems even on high-end PC. Eternal promises of fixes and performance optimization patches and yet the developer can't even solve for more than a week a problem with server-side security vulnerabilities. 11 years of development for such state of this game is just awful
