About Highly Likely

If we were to describe our game in a few words, they would be Ukraine, Moonshine and Oil!

The game is inspired by the historical period of Prohibition in the US, the legendary Franklin County moonshiners with a modern twist and in a new place!

The first part of the trilogy, Highly Likely, is a surreal Singleplayer 2D Side Scroller Adventure about a funny and somewhat naive character called Mikola who is trying to do all he can to save his homestead. The game is currently in Early Access.

The story unfolds in a most ordinary Ukrainian farmstead near the Polish border, where the main character, Mikola, lives with his wife. In pursuit of his dream, he lands in tough circumstances and finds himself facing the threat of total ruin. It would seem that it's over, and there’s no hope. However, fate gives our hero a chance, albeit a very dangerous one, in the form of an “abandoned” oil pipeline. Realizing that he has nothing left to lose, Mikola, without thinking twice, decides to use it and, using various improvised devices, moonshiners style, starts a risky venture that involves him in incredibly amusing, sometimes dangerous and unpredictable adventures.

Game Features:

- More than 5 hours of relaxing gameplay.

- A tragicomic realistic plot divided into acts.

- A variety of quests.

- Hand-drawn picturesque landscapes in 23 night and day locations.

- Over 30 characters.

- More than fifty interactive items.

- More than a dozen types of vehicles: from a modern bicycle to a steam locomotive.

- 130 unique animations of the main character.

- Multiple movement paths that help to avoid obstacles and perform other maneuvers.

- Original atmospheric music recorded with live instruments.

- Family Friendly.

- Narration: First of all, our beautiful game is a story with a fascinating and rich plot based on novel. We really wanted the players to be able to fully enjoy the game process, so that they can fully appreciate its idea, and be able to emotionally empathize with the main character. For this reason, we employed a storyteller, who throughout the game narrates off-screen events, voices the thoughts of the characters, and conducts dialogs on behalf of the characters.

I was hoping to like this game, but it is just too slow. It takes forever to walk from place to place, and the narration is way too slow. It's like a 2 hour game has been extended to 5 hours of playtime because of these issues. You can't even skip the talking. You just have to stand there, as the narrator slowly speaks.

This is one of the most tedious, poorly crafted, boring, pointless games I've ever played. The art is phenomenal. The developers' interactions with folks on the internet is disappointing. It's buggy and slow and repetitive. There are no puzzles, there's barely a story, there is no skill involved, it's poorly translated, it's a little sexist, and the characters' motivations are all over the map. There's literally a segment in this game where you need to cross a river, so you hold the joystick to the left for over a minute while he slowly turns a crank. This happens multiple times. The most engaging moment of the whole thing is a long and laborious multi-part fetch quest. I highly recommend looking at screenshots of this game. They're great. I hope these artists get hired everywhere making real games. I desperately recommend against playing this game. There is not a single moment of "fun" in Highly Likely.
Visit SaveOrQuit.com for detailed game reviews, posted daily!
Highly Likely is a short and light-hearted point-and-click game that is set in a rural Ukraine and follows a man named Mikola as he tries to get himself out of an enormous debt that he owes to the bank. He finds himself a new business opportunity, one that is risky and could land him in trouble with the law, but he knows that he’s got no other choice. This is the basic story premise that is very relatable and could happen to just about anyone. The characters are generally developed well and the whole story and all our actions and dialogues are narrated by a narrator, as though someone is reading this story out of a book. The gameplay mainly involves simply point-and-click interactions with the environment and some mini-games which aren't hard to solve. This is good for those seeking a casual experience. My one big complaint is that the walking speed is quite slow most of the time and could've been a bit faster to make travelling around areas a bit more fun. There's no manual save and the game autosaves upon transitions from one area to another, although at times the places where it autosaves can be a …

What a mess! Way too buggy for release, yet. I found a bug quite early that bugged progression and I'm not sticking around to find any more. Do not buy this one, at least until it's been fixed. Something else that might be a bit of a normality bias from the makers of the game is that the game starts in Russian. Now, for someone Russian it's probably quite unthinkable that someone can't read something as simple as 'Options' or 'Language' in their native language, but believe me; it's quite possible and quite bothersome. I can speak and write in three languages and Russian is not one of them; their alphabet is nothing but hieroglyphs to me not different from ancient Sumerian, Egyptian or what-have-you. They should probably fix that, too. Finding how to change the Language was not too easy; especially if when you choose one of the choices that isn't 'Options' in Russian, you could start a New Game or close the game altogether and have to restart the whole thing.

well the game looks nice and all but it has a bug at the beginning that blocks all progression. i tried pressing buttons changing resolution but nothing worked. yeah it's slow but it didn't bother me. I'll give a positive review hoping that devs will fix the game.. i'd like to see what they made. as for now it's not playable.
