About Harvest Island
You live on an island with just you, your sister and your dad. Farm life is is simple. Water the crops, tend to the animals, and catch bugs. It's a simple life... but then you start exploring. You asks questions. Why am I alone on this island? Dad starts to tell many "white" lies. Your sister becomes paranoid. You become paranoid. There's something wrong on Harvest Island. Discover it's dark story in this horror farming game.
- Gods play an important part in Harvest Island. Everyday, the gods will ask you for items that are around the island. You receive bless from the gods once you give the items to them. You use the bless to upgrade your farm or use bless to build and craft stuff.
- As time progresses, the forest, caves, and seashores change. When it becomes night, the caves glow, the forest sings and sparkles with fireflies, and the shore recedes creating a low tide. You can see the sunset and sunrise while the landscape changes. The day/night cycle is perpetual and you don't even have to sleep if you want to pull an all nighter or two.
- There are many wild animals on the island. You can befriend them, pet them, or even feed them. Sometimes they will give you items they find in the wild or show an undiscovered passage for you to explore.
Features
- Throughout the island, you'll collect items like coconuts, seaweed, horseshoe crabs, and other peculiar stuff: Nine-armed starfish, beetle, and a shark. You'll offer these common and strange items to the gods and in return, the gods will reward you by giving you bless. This bless helps you craft, upgrade your farm, and progress the story.
- There are tons of different types of fish that you can catch all over the island. Each fish has their own behavior and habitat. Depending on the conditions, fishing during the day or night, or far off into the corner of the island will catch you different types of fish as long as you use the correct bait during those times. You can then cook the fish and eat it to gain bless and stamina when you perform activities like farming.
- You can craft various tools from your workbench to help you further explore the island like a ladder, rope, and a fishing pole. These tools will help you further progress the story and will help you farm.
- When it rains, animals will hide, fish will hide, and crops will be watered. Sometimes you'll get a sprinkle, and other times it'll pour down hard. But when it's sunny, everything is back to normal.
- Tides fluctuate as time progresses, changing the island's landscape. You can pick up sea critters during low tide and offer them to the gods. And tides can open up new paths. It'll allow you to explore the island further.

I wouldn't believe my self that I really enjoyed the game! Farming sim is not my in my alley so thank God it has a Story Mode where the farming aspect can be easier and will be focused on the progression of the story instead which made me wanna play the game. Farming Aspect - It might not be on par with Stardew Valley but it's the basics you get as it is and I like it! Cozziness - Environment, music, plus bonding moments of the siblings? Very nice but it's not that cozy cozy cozy fully since it has- HORROR - The story? I got hooked and rootin for the siblings and the plot resembles
Promised Neverland
which made me want to know what will happen because the anime version of it didn't really meet the expectation of the audience (ppt slides to wrap up the season 2) but I know there's manga of it but I don't read that much so I don't mind if it has references on that. So in the end, it feels like the game has potential to offer something more what the anime can't do, personally The scares? The setup? It's a-okay but it would be nice if it has variations and such like what the usual horror can do maybe if it has a
a chase scene at the end
would …
This is absolutely a hidden gem of a game. It's a bit slow to start, but once you get going? Buckle up for a wild ride. This game does an incredible job of making you feel unnerved and creeped out just as you start to feel safe again. The story is far darker than I initially thought it was, I thought I was getting a "stardew-like game with a twist" and what I got was so much more than that. I highly recommend it!
Farming/horror mishmash with RPGMaker vibes. The game wins a lot of points for the degree of freedom it gives you in how you're able to explore and progress while still maintaining the atmosphere. The early game relies a lot on menus and repeating simple tasks and gathering lists of items. If you're playing on normal mode, the inventory/stamina systems encourage doing these at first, as the rewards you get enable you to explore much farther. As you gather enough stamina and space, you become inclined to ignore the farming mechanics and focus more heavily on exploring the unknown, encountering horrors, and advancing the narrative. I've seen people criticize the shallowness of the farming mechanics but I think they play well into the narrative, as it feels like you're outgrowing your small pen and gradually getting yourself into more trouble as you push the boundaries you've been given. The characters have a lot of dialog back-and-forth throughout the game that also reinforces this shift. As you begin to question why you're doing the things you're doing, so do they. The pacing here is important to keep emotional investment so you don't get too bogged down in any one aspect and …
Amazing balance to the gameplay. I constantly forgot I was playing a horror game which made it hit hard when I got to the next story beat.
Game keeps crashing
Overall, I really enjoyed this game! It is something different and unique, I personally haven’t played anything like Harvest Island and will be keeping an eye out for similar games. Absolutely loved the concept. I do agree, to an extent, with the other comments that the ending could be better and the twist wasn’t necessarily shocking but I will still be purchasing The Chains That Bound Me when it is released and it hasn’t put me off. The main issue I have with the ending (other than the obvious Will storyline) is that it feels incomplete, I understand this is to sell separate DLCs but I think it should wrap the game up enough to complete the storyline, but that is just an opinion and I’m sure there are lots of people who feel like the ending does complete the story. I would still purchase new game releases and DLCs to continue playing even with some closure on the initial stretch of the story so it does feel a bit disappointing to put all the hours in and not truly find out what happens within the base game. With that being said, I loved the game and really appreciate it when devs actually try and think of a unique concept and not just stick to your typical farming sims. …
