ANIWARS: Call of the Void

Upsides: 1. The game is easy to get into. I don't usually play these kind of games but it was easy enough to quickly pick up and play. I managed to win on my first try as Blitz against Hellhound, but it was still relatively challenging. 2. Although the game mechanics can be simple, they are fine-tuned to create complex thought. This isn't a game where the combat is a tedious formality before your inevitable victory. 3. The game has a great balance of difficulty, not too easy or hard. And there is even a hard mode once you become more experienced. 4. The game is currently well worth its price, you get more than enough FUN playtime to justify buying it. 5. The game is constantly being worked on and more content is still coming. 6. HUGE variety of items. 7. There is some level of meta progression in the sense you unlock new characters or items, but these are sidegrades which I prefer, meaning you have something to work for without your first runs doomed to be subpar due to a lack of meta progression. 8. The game has great art and character designs. And its fortunately not afraid to be sexy. 9. Performance is great. 10. Music is great. Downsides: 1. Maybe I just didn't pay attention…

Very good and unique gameplay mixes strategy and rouge like very well is INCREDIBLY difficult only complaint is the lack of a list of items and units for refence and maybe meta progression so that you can get something out of every run but I might just be bad at the game and need to learn. Also love the art of the Characters. My only complaint is that there is no indicator for the direction of units making it take awhile to check.

Tasteful art, interesting concept, gameplay and story is still WIP. Devs being fair and keeping the price low in early access.

This is my first time writing a steam review so it might be a bit scatterbrained, sorry. As a newcomer to this genre of game while there is a little difficulty at the start, the gameplay loop is easy to get the hang of. I like that most of the unlocks/achievements happen naturally enough to where even on losing runs you know you'll always be a little stronger for the next one. I also think the playthrough progression of enjoying the art but struggling with the gameplay to enjoying the gameplay but spamming spacebar to skip the battle cutscenes is kinda funny. It's like rattling keys in front of the player's face so they don't get too frustrated. I do have a couple complaints/suggestions that I think could improve the game though. 1. There should be a way to see what items your units and especially the enemies have in battle. With 5 items for 6 units it can be easy to forget who has the items that require specific conditions like swapping and being near teammates. And for enemies; while there aren't really any items that influence how you should play too much besides large conditional damage ups like silencer or range ups, I really don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to. …
