Awesome idea, fun mechjanics, but utterly boring because the difficulty is a joke. a rogue like shoulkd not be beaten on the first playthough, and should have a lot more variety of enemies and bosses. absolutely great idea because the devs were scared to make the game hard. no truly strategic player will struggle with a game this east. since enemies can only attack on your turn, and since healing is so crazy abundant, there is literally no way any thinking person can lose. hell letting a timer run out doesn't even deny you anything, just makes you start the level over. no penalty at all. skip it, find a strategy game that is worth your intelligence. buy this for your 5 year old maybe? nearly half of my 8.8 hours of playtime was because i left the game on while i dealt with morning chores and such.6 found this helpful
OK It started weird then it got very good then I saw the limits and the frustrating RNG. If you watch any video about this game there's a good chance it's a chess like game with overwatch attack. This is not the game I have played. The current version keep overwatch attack for the enemy* and the heroes attack on their turn like a normal Turn based game. For the exception that some enemy bosses will send some attack at the beginning of their turn. are you confused yet? I was. The basics are very good and the whole gameplay works very well in the combat only missions with no bosses. I like that part a lot (mission where you have to kill 6 enemies.) Things start to go out the window when you have to do escort or retrieve missions. the amount of turn you get is sometimes too little and the amount of enemy is sometimes too high. because it's a roguish type game every run or try of the same battle will be different with different enemies and placement. meaning sometimes 6 turn to escort the bomb is enough sometimes you get stuck on the first turn. With the bomb for example you can only move one square at the time (a power let you move 2 every 3 turns) on a board that has 1…4 found this helpful
I have been watching this game from afar since it was announced and decided to finally give it a try once it hit 1.0. I do not have many hours on this, so there may be some potential in this game that I am not seeing. I played through one of the biomes, worked through a boss, and played a few of the different mission types that were available. Summary Ultimately - I am not recommending this game because it did not feel very fun and the tactical gameplay just didn't feel very engaging. It is not doing anything really innovative in the genre, and where it does innovate, I believe it is taking a step backwards. If you really enjoyed games like Into the Breach or Tyrant's Blessing and you want something slightly different, then this could be worth your time as the price point is accessible and fair. Nevertheless, I feel it is inferior to both of those titles. World Map and Run Progression The world map and run progression is almost identical to Into the Breach. This is not a bad model to borrow from, but at least at first glance, there is not really anything innovative happening here. You do a few missions until a region boss is revealed, do the boss, unlock a new …4 found this helpful
Stupid game with small fields and very counterintuitive interface. Absolute waste of my time and I regret spending a penny on this. I would of give it 0 out of 10 - that's how idiotic the rules, the maps, the characters, the inventory, the hero management and everything else you could imagine. A perfect example of how to NOT make a strategic turn-based game. Oh, did I mentioned that the campaign is nothing but a mere collection of challenges? Yeah, like don't let goblins pass your heroes or kill some beasts in 5 turns. Can't express my disappointment enough.2 found this helpful
Decent game to scratch that tactical itch. Pretty short game with a good challenge. I can see myself playing this game one more time so the replay value is that great but some may disagree. I like the variety of champions. Biggest con is this bug with Zephry that causes the game to freeze.1 found this helpful
I wanted to like this game for originality, but I put a negative review because of clumsiness. Out of three starting characters I can only play two normally, while the third is more like a support while it has the biggest DMG. I have no idea what the devs imaged when they thought that giving characters unique move was a good idea. It's not. It's just not!
