Hell naw Loaded into the game, immediately fell through the geometry and had to restart, finally got through the 15 minute nothingburger of not-cinematic mumble sounds, and tried actually shooting something only to realize that feels awful with basically no visual or worthwhile audible feedback. Also the first enemy I saw threw themselves on the ground and the lack of visual clarity made me think they were dead, they were not. The worldbuilding and story might end up being decent. Might buy it again when it goes on sale for 4 dollars eventually but this is refund territory.3 found this helpful
Played the demo ages ago and enjoyed it but everything past the demo content and even some new problems I found during early game areas is just so frustrating, very clearly took inspiration from games like Half-Life (it even says so in the description) but it just isn't quite there, it got the long intro correct, I guess I've had 4 different times where enemies will die, then just get back up but they are now invincible, you can blow off all their limbs to the point they are floating torsos and they are still shooting you, only fix is to save/load and then kill them again, unfairly wasting your scarce resources The weapon balancing is not great, the SMG is impossible to use unless you tap fire, enemies using it however are near perfectly accurate, can't really avoid using it either because you barely get ammo for anything else, the Pistol uses the same ammo but it also sucks, the shotgun and heavy ammo weapons are decent but the ammo is so scarce and some enemies are so tanky you'll run out after 2 or 3 encounters of 4 - 8 enemy ambushes that are all over the place, also going back to Half-Life, if I could have every gun on me like in HL instead of just 3 at a time, that would be…1 found this helpful

I'm usually the first person to complain when a game sucks or is too difficult, but I genuinely did not come across any of the issues listed in the negative reviews: - saving & loading worked perfectly fine for me (although when loading a save it would always spawn a random NPC near me? I thought that was a bug at first, but I'm pretty sure it summons one just in case you softlock yourself by running out of ammo and finding yourself among a ton of enemies) - I did not fall through the map or get stuck at any point. It's definitely possible to get stuck at the very end of the last Early Access level among all the wreckage, but if you stay on the visible path it's not a problem. I did manage to launch an enemy through a wall with the car/buggy, from which point on he was effectively invincible and kept shooting at me, but that was more funny than annoying - the car definitely doesn't handle very well, but it drives a lot better on the roads you come across later on. I think the level where the car is introduced is actually the worst part about it, but then it becomes more pleasant to use later on - I saw someone in the reviews mention that "an enemy threw themselves on the ground" an…1 found this helpful
Not ready for even the most basic consumption. I can excuse some of the Early Access jank. But I can't excuse the fail of basic functionality. Stuff that should be ready first. 1. Enemies can not die. Had one where the head was blown off and it didn't die. 2. And much worse: Basic saving functions does not work. Every single time when trying to load a save the file would simply not load and then vanish. I want this to be good, good points are here. But they are useless when basic functions don't work.1 found this helpful
[UPDATE] I beat what was playable in the EA build. There are something like 11 levels plus a shooting range where you can experiment with all of the available weapons in the game. By the end of it I found the vehicle portions a bit cumbersome because of the vehicles handling. The initial novel charm of it wore off relatively quickly as it became a bit of a chore to handle. Other than that I think the game is a knock out experience, I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to new content coming as the EA version progressing. [ORIGINAL] This game is right up my alley. I love the visuals reaching back to the late 90's and early 2000's PC FPS games. The atmosphere and gunplay both evoke Half-Life tones. The story is pretty straight forward, but told in a really cool way through this communication tablet you find in the alien prison. It's like if Unreal and Half-Life were combined, and I'm having a great time. There are some bugs that need to be ironed out, but the dev has been good about updating the game thus far and staying communicative in the discussions, so that's been great to see as well.
