Bob's Mansion surpassed my initial expectations when I first set out to play it. The game has a strong "arcadey" feel to it, but it does it super well. I notice a good balance of pace in the entire game, constantly switching from slow moments to fast moments, that is satisfying to see. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3326779632 It's a very movement-focused game, it "allows" for a lot of things, doublejumping & crouch-sliding. First thing that comes to mind when I have to describe it is to compare it to bhopping, which is pretty unusual in horror games, but it is a very arcadey game, so it fits super well here. The goo theme of the game is very fun, there's different game mechanics built around it as well, nice job! I experienced some minor technical stuff so far, got stuck in my first 2 runs (luckily figured that you can unstuck yourself easily simply by crouching), but I'm sure that small things like this will get fixed. Game is still in Early Access. From a strict horror perspective, it did not feel like a very scary game. It definitely is filled with elements of horror, and it is based around it, but the atmosphere and ominous feeling were pretty lack…

I maybe biased because I know the developer but from what I see there is a lot of promise here. the game looks good, it runs good, and it's actually got some scary and tense bits. While the game is currently short topping out at most 45 minutes to 1 hour of playtime, the developer is constantly at work refining the first chapter as well as putting in the time to make chapter two. It's very clear that there is a passion here and he wants his first game to be the best it can be. I have high ambitions and hopes for this game and I am almost 100 percent sure it will deliver as a very good Indie Horror game once it is fully released.
A solid 'mid' kind of game that is fun for what it does, but doesn't bring anything new to the genre.
Pros: Chase Sequences were fun and frantic, without feeling chaotic Interesting hook of a story that kept me wanting to play Overall not a terrible game. Cons: The combat felt off. (The enemies took far too many hits IMO) The final 'fight' wasn't so much a fight as it was a run around in a circle and hit a switch once. Finding the three objects in the intro was awful, because two of them didn't even look like what you were asked to grab. The ending felt kinda weird and like it was utter nonsense.
Did WE turn into Bob? Or was that shadow just behind us??
It's your standard kind of run from/hide from an enemy that can instakill you, while you complete objectives/find switches to hit sort of game. Nothing really special to differentiate from other games of the same ilk, even with a power gun sort of weapon. All it does is power up certain boxes, and kill enemies. Nothing new. Still, it's not a BAD game, it just doesn't really bring anything new to the table. I'd wait for a sale.

Bob's Mansion is a horror adventure game that definitely takes inspiration from Bendy and the Ink Machine, separated by it's own locale and monsters and the player's ability to jump and climb ledges. It's a relatively short game at the moment with only a couple of big bad monsters to encounter - there's Bob and another entity called "The Puppet", the latter being the more terrifying of the two in my opinion. It starts a tad slow, building atmosphere, but as soon as I got into a groove solving the first couple puzzles the rest of the game felt cohesive, and I never got stuck anywhere for more than a couple minutes. As the game description says, some item spawn locations are randomly determined - on the intended difficulty level and higher.
Bob's Mansion is a beginner-friendly horror adventure with a healthy amount of scares and story to tide you over until the final chapter(s) are eventually added.
I'd say it's reasonably priced at $5, especially for fans of scary adventure games.
