Final Outcry is a V/H/S-style found footage horror game where you explore an abandoned prison and uncover the fate of a missing urban explorer stalked by supernatural forces. Final Outcry is a realistic horror experience powered by Unreal Engine 5, where you'll witness an urban explorer's terrifying descent into an abandoned prison through frightening V/H/S style found-footage gameplay.

Story

The U.S. Department of Irregular Security (DIS) has served to protect the country and American public from a wide range of anomalous activity across the nation. They’ve collected decades of case files documenting encounters with the unknown, their subjects ranging from paranormal to extraterrestrial (and everything in-between).

Final Outcry follows DIS Case File #871, a V/H/S recording from 1986 of an urban explorer who went missing while venturing into a derelict prison. Inside this abandoned prison – the Heron Correctional Facility – an unnatural horror stalks the decaying halls.

Features

  • Found Footage Gameplay: Experience the horrors of the Heron Correctional Facility through realistic V/H/S style gameplay
  • Immersive Graphics: High quality graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5 provide you with a frighteningly detailed world to explore
  • Intense Scares: Navigate chilling encounters and a tense atmosphere, where every shadow hides terror

Final Outcry is a very short found footage horror game (completable in under 30 minutes) that relies heavily on jumpscares and atmospheric tension to create fear, with opinions sharply divided based on tolerance for such tactics. Players who enjoy simple psychological horror and found footage presentation praise the immersive atmosphere and paranormal mystery, while others find it generic, boring, and overly dependent on cheap scares rather than meaningful gameplay or puzzles.

probably missing something considering the reviews, but to me nothing more than a generic, boring, jumpscare horror flick, not my cup of tea.

Though the Game is Very short it felt like it was going on for nearly an hour because of the atmosphere in this game, I was in a panic the entirety of my playthrough and Im sure people who arent as scared by simple stuff made it through no issue I got jumped by every single noise the camera made itself not just from the entity, keep making mroe games I hope you can make a much longer game in the future to keep us on our toes!

Short Review: Final Outcry is a very VERY short found footage psychological horror game (you can beat this game in under 20 min probably). The single puzzle that is the game is ok, but the game relies heavily on jump scares for any substance. Long Review: I can't believe this game has a demo, it is a demo. I beat it in 26 min of playtime but, honestly, 10 of that was me stopping to have a text chat with my gf. This game wants to be paranormal outlast really bad and, if a full game comes out where you actually do explore cell blocks A, B, and D maybe it could be. However, the game is a walking simulator with the move to area A and get item X, bring it to area B and then go to area C, and so on. The game also feels incredibly railroaded considering puzzle pieces spawn in a set order despite you having been there before the pieces spawn checkpoint was triggered. Additionally, there are clear graphical issues with the shadows clipping through environmental polygons but besides that the game looks ok. Despite the price tag of $2.56 I would say save your money, but honestly it's such a cheap game it really doesn't make a difference. Edit: I'm adding this edit to add that chances are th…

Final Outcry is a first-person psychological horror game developed by Andrew Kendall and published by Anchorwatch Games that builds its experience around environmental tension, paranormal mystery, and found-footage storytelling. Rather than relying heavily on combat encounters or traditional survival systems, the game creates fear through uncertainty, atmosphere, and the slow unraveling of disturbing events hidden inside a forgotten location. Built using a presentation style inspired by analog horror and documentary-style recordings, Final Outcry focuses on immersion and psychological discomfort rather than constant action. The premise centers around a classified investigation involving unusual events connected to a mysterious government division responsible for handling unexplained phenomena. Players experience the story through recovered recordings tied to an explorer who entered an abandoned correctional facility during the mid-1980s and vanished without explanation. This narrative structure immediately establishes a sense of realism that strengthens immersion throughout the experience. Rather than presenting horror through cinematic storytelling, the game creates the feeling o…

Final Outcry is a short horror game similar to the SCP series of games/stories. It's a found footage kind of "adventure" where you relive the protagonists .... ummm.... experience as he tries to escape some kind of prison he finds himself in. When I say this is a "short" game, I mean it is SHORT. I played completely through TWICE in 58 minutes. The first play through, I took my time and explored... 50 minutes total. The second play through (speed-run) took 8 minutes. I did experience some things in the second play through that I didn't in the first, which was kinda kewl, actually. The game ran fine in LINUX. I got the game on sale. I think it's worth it, though.... there's limited replay ability. It is great for killing (ha, ha) time. I loved the environment, though there was a weird clicking that was throughout the game, and I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be.... maybe it was supposed to be the recording device, since it occurred consistently every ... 30 seconds? ... 60 seconds? ... it was consistent. I am a little disappointed in the end, only because there's only one end, but... I guess that's typical for this kind of game, too. Game d…
