Players broadly agree this budget horror game offers decent production quality and mechanics for its low price, but lacks substance and genuine scares. The experience is shallow—essentially a short 20-30 minute walking simulator where you collect keys and flip switches with minimal puzzles or lore, punctuated by cheap, repetitive jump scares that fail to unsettle. While some appreciate it as a functional budget title, most feel there's simply not enough content or creativity here to justify a recommendation, even at under two dollars.
Ehhhh, as far as indie horror games go there is certainly worse. There just isn't a lot here, it only takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. There are no "puzzles", you just run around a "labyrinth" collecting keys and flicking switches. There a couple cheap jump scares with a flashing image and loud noise. The Steam page description is the only lore, there is no in-game explanation of whats happening. This just feels like baby's first Unity tutorial game, and for $1.99 or less you can get better games.5 found this helpful
I expected worse for a cheap horror game like this. The game had good graphics and mechanics but it was not scary at all the jumpscares looked like they were just copy-pasted witch i think they were and the only issue that i had is that the doors didn't open when i flicked all the levers 7/10.4 found this helpful
Well it was only $1.81 CDN so don't expect any monsters or anything too exciting. Just a walkaround Unity game. you have to pull switches, find fuses and keys to move on to the next area. that's basically it. looks and plays good but really not much going on. I'm only saying "yes" because it' works, looks good but mostly it was only $2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpK4Q6R3cQk3 found this helpful
⭐ "A Terrifyingly Good Time Behind Bars!" ⭐ Horror Prison by Panzo Games is an absolute thrill ride for horror fans! The game delivers a gripping atmosphere, spine-chilling sound design, and intense moments that will keep you on edge from start to finish. The eerie prison setting is packed with unsettling surprises, and the tension builds beautifully as you explore its dark corridors. The scares are unpredictable, and the level design ensures a sense of claustrophobia that adds to the horror. If you love games that keep you guessing and constantly looking over your shoulder, Horror Prison is a must-play! Not recommended It is pretty much just a walking sim with random jump scares and the PC going "I'm scared" after seeing an unlit room. The upgrade over Crimson Asylum is that (especially if you crank up that Brightness setting): you can actually see the level. I have heard various generally disparaging descriptions of the indie 'horror' productions and this one matches them to a tee. If you really needed just another game where you run around doing fuse box puzzles and experience random jumpscares every now and then, this might be for you. For everyone else: naw bruh.
In 'Horror Prison', you play as a private detective drawn into the heart of a nightmare disguised as a high-security prison, where you must uncover a sinister truth. The game features an atmospheric horror experience, immersing you in a chilling world of darkness and despair, with a labyrinthine prison to explore, horrifying discoveries to uncover, heart-pounding encounters to face, and gruesome puzzles to solve in order to unravel the mysteries behind the experiments. Completing the game took me roughly 20 minutes, and it’s designed without any Steam achievements, keeping the focus purely on the experience itself. With only one ending and an automatic save feature after each chapter, players can easily resume or restart without worrying about manual saves. I would rate the difficulty around 1 out of 10 due to the straightforward gameplay and the absence of time limits, making it accessible and easy to complete for players of all skill levels. 'Horror Prison' tries to deliver a chilling psychological thriller but falls into familiar horror clichés without offering much originality. The premise of a detective investigating a gruesome prison experiment is intriguing, but the executio…
