Duriano

This is genuinely my first top-down rogue-type game. This kind of experience is far more enjoyable on a handheld like the Steam Deck, it's a better fit for short-break experiences rather than long-hour sessions on my desktop. --- Pros - The gameplay loop gets a lot better when you start to understand the builds. - Visually, the enemies and playable characters look decent, and some enemies look cuter than they have a reason to be. - has decent build options to try on different runs, like infinite healing, tank, turbo speed, etc. - nice effects for spells, skills, and weapons. - Too many items. I would rather have fewer items that look more memorable in artwork and stats, rather than too many with similar stats. --- Cons - Maybe it's normal for this genre to lack a tutorial to explain how things work, which made my early gameplay not fun and too hard. This lasted until I realized the coins weren't collected automatically after finishing an encounter, and the effect lied to me, making it seem like they were auto-collected like chests. - The levels lack variety. - The damn exploding rock/barrel is worthless because the game is auto-attack, and the player makes it explod…

Great game!! Waiting for full release

no leaderboard, poor balance between classes, endless mode is pretty mindless and I have to kill my character out of boredom. It has potential otherwise, but I don't recommend for now.

Duriano is such a fun surprise. You play as a durian warrior fighting Norse gods, sounds wild, but it totally works. The combat feels smooth, the upgrades are satisfying, and every run keeps you wanting one more try. It’s quirky, fast-paced, and has that perfect roguelite loop that just hooks you in. Super addictive.

Duriano is a fantastic, furiously fast top-down slasher roguelite that perfectly blends the chaos of arena shooters with deep build customization, all wrapped up in an absurd Norse mythology package starring a hero durian. The gameplay loop is incredibly addictive: you select your Durian hero, a mythical weapon, and a "God's Trail" ability, then frantically stack augments and items to create game-breaking synergies on your run to defeat the Gods of Asgard. While the screen can sometimes descend into beautiful, chaotic particle hell, the tight controls, satisfying progression, and sheer ridiculousness of the concept make this an excellent and highly recommended gem for anyone who loves challenging action and crafting overpowered builds.
