Unknown 9: Awakening is a below average action-adventure game that fails in nearly every aspect. The good things about the game are its beautiful graphics and its linear structure. I'm glad it isn't an open world game because this sh*t wouldn't be tolerable otherwise. Now, let's talk about the negatives. Constant handholding. This is one of those games where the developers were too afraid to leave the player alone and let them explore. You constantly have one whiny f*ck following you around from the beginning to the end of every mission. If you stray away from the main path to look for collectibles, those c*ckbreath NPCs start talking and don't stop until you're standing right next to them. The developers were so afraid that you might get lost in their linear game that they always send you on missions with a babysitter. As if that wasn't enough, most of the main paths are covered in white paint. Getting lost in this game would be like getting lost inside your own house. Whenever I went looking for collectibles and those NPCs started annoying the f*ck out of me, I wanted to shoot myself. At least that's tolerable, but the biggest sin in this game is its god-awful combat system. Dear…

Can't recommend this game....has a bug on the first "gearhead" fight which won't let you win, so you can't progress beyond that point....many complaints about this online as well. I'm playing on a high end PC....hardware shouldn't be a problem. I've worn down the gearhead's armor to zero time after time, one attack after another, using burst attacks when prompted.....tried over 50 times back to back....the gearhead death never triggers. I've seen others get it to work on videos....they are doing the exact same thing....but the gear head dies after about 3 "finisher" attacks....

Decided to play this game in 2026 to see if all the bugs and glitches got ironed out and maybe if the gameplay was more smooth, but its not. The controls are janky and the graphics look really out dated, even though this game came out in the PS5/XBOX Series era. The story is slightly interesting and the only cool thing i can take away from this game are the powers that Haroona has but other than that, this game is not that good. Also the acting was kinda lack luster. I couldn't even finish the game because the gameplay alone was enough to turn me off. Look elsewhere for your time and money. pros checkpoints during bossfight phases cool abilities cons lock on doesn't work when intended at times combat is a bit janky/clunky game is giitchy, one part i remember is when haroona gets the amulet and i couldn't exit the upgrade menu when it told you that you got an upgrade cutscenes have no flow to them and seem outdated
